ZIv Convention

yea I know. Pretty much everyone on that list as of right now is a Maybe with only like 2 that positive about going to Summer.

EDIT: I just finished talking with the owner and it seems like things are going better than expected. He said that anyone coming from ZIv wouldn't have to worry about paying for their rooms. They can get a few suites and reserve them for us so we can room in small groups if we want(the largest room apparently can house up to eight people). He is also going to put two metal DDR dancepads in the budget so he can buy them for the conventions and he's going to look into borrowing some of those huge speakers for us to use at the tournament and for the Bemani party. He said it was alright for people to check in Thursday (June 16th) since the secretary is lenient with all of that stuff. And I believe he said theres a place right next to the hotel that has two floors for the Bemani rave I had in mind, another possibility being a pavilion on the beach. So yea, things are looking good so far. He asked me to send him an email soon containing anything else we'd want to do at the con so if anyone has any suggestions just let me know.

Dan, just wanted to let you know that my dad got a 2004 Ford Expedition XLT, this car is like a TANK.

In other words, if i can't get a plane ticket to Texas, there could be a chance i can drive over there for the Fall convention...we will see though >__>

Oh wow thats cool. Well your room is going to be paid for and then theres the buffet that goes with it so he's trying to help out as much as he can. I'm planning on taking all attending members out to eat during the con weekend so thats a little more off your back too.

Wish I could go, but I don't have a passport and my parents think I'm not independent enough to go on a trip all by myself (out of the country even). Maybe next year, though.

I may print out the nametag you posted and wear it when the convention is actually happening. Or not.

EDIT: Well, as mentioned in the first post, any attending members no longer have to worry about paying for rooms since the owner took care of it and we may have something else special at the convention too for the ZIv part.

It won't be cancelled or changed. They have already settled things with the hotel so they cant change it. Trust me, I'll be the first one to raise hell if something like that happens. One thing to keep in mind though, hurricane season does begin next week. I'm not saying anything is going to happen but we are a coastal region so there's that risk there. It should all be good though.

P.S. I'm going to be Viper and silent's personal chauffer for the weekend.

Well not really. There's no way to get a hold of someone important at Konami for the convention executives to discuss bringing down any Bemani special guests. IMO, I would think Al would be the most important special guest for us since he created ZIv.

Well, I have some unfortunate news for the future of the convention. Due to leadership issues, among other things, the convention more than likely not survive into 2012. I did the best I could but the higher ups aren't cooperating and it's making things really bad. With that said, the two main events this year (June and November) will be the one and only shot where any ZIv members willing to have a meetup where the hotel and other expenses are paid for. This isn't to force people more people to come down or anything like that but I had to announce it since putting this was on my shoulders. I appreciate any members who are going to come down and I'll do everything I can so it all ends up being a great weekend. I don't know what else to do to try and save the whole thing but I did what I could.

Oh no no both cons for this year are still good to go so dont worry. But since the president of the con decided to pull the rug out from under us, I'm going to try and force him to reimburse you guys' plane ticket money for being a stupidass.
