"DINGDONG♥HEARTS"
Harmonix has been sold

DLC Week of 12/28 - Paul McCartney, Wings, Siousxie and the Banshees and Inhabited!

Quote: hmxhenry
Hey gang,

Keep the holiday joy going with the Paul McCartney DLC coming out next week! Sir Paul is now featured in the Rock Band library as a solo artist, in Wings and as part of a little know group called The Beatles. Looks like he's making a play to dethrone Dave Grohl as the artist with the most appearances in RB. Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360 (Dec. 28) and Wii and PlayStation 3 system (Jan. 4):

Paul McCartney – “Maybe I’m Amazed”
Paul McCartney & Wings – “Band on the Run”
Paul McCartney & Wings – “Helen Wheels”
Paul McCartney & Wings – “Let Me Roll It” X
Inhabited – “Open My Eyes”
Siouxsie and The Banshees – “Cities in Dust” X

(All tracks are original master recordings)
(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation 3 system Jan. 5)

These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks, as well as “Celebrating Band on the Run Pack” on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:

$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song
$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade
$6.99, £3.49 UK, €5.29 EU (560 Microsoft Points, 700 Wii Points) for Celebrating Band on the Run Pack

** Dates for Rock Band game tracks are tentative and subject to change. **

Sony doesn't bother updating the store on the last week of the year, so PS3 users will be getting the songs with whatever is planned for the 360s week of Jan. 4

dont forget detroit rock city. there are probably more.

I plan on submitting a DDR battle to the Rock Band network, when I can be bothered to do so.

Would have been curious to see what would have happened if Konami got to them, but independence is a better option.

Is This Just Fantasy? Rock Band 3 Achievement/Trophy One Player Version 2

Discussion on the video

I know I'll never find local players that play on Expert Vocals so I find this video useful for getting that "fantasy" achievement. It won't work on Hard or Expert so there's no potential harm for the leaderboards.

I used this video to get the achievement/goal, but I only did on Medium so it wouldn't interfere with the Leaderboards.

In other news I finally reached 1,000,000 fans Big Grin

I'm one of three people to reach the Completionists rank on Xbox Live, don't know how many people have gotten it on the PS3 or Wii.

You can add We Got The Beat (cover in HP2), Walking on Sunshine (in Lego Rock Band and covered in HP2), Pork and Beans, Hungry Like The Wolf, and Feel Good Inc. (last three in HP3).

I like to see how many songs I can AAA in DDR and 100% in Rock Band.

dont forget detroit rock city. there are probably more.

Also don't forget Heart of Glass, Call Me, and Hanging on the Telephone. All of these were liceneses on European Xbox games.

And Rock Lobster and Whip It were on Ultramix 3

And Take Me Out was on Universe 2

And how could we forget about Kung Fu Fighting from good ole 1st mix lol

And Centerfold from SN. I don't how I didn't come up with this one sooner lol

And Long Train Runnin'

Since I can't find the information anywhere, I'm gonna pop a quick question in here to see if anyone knows

I have a Rock Band USB mic and 2 Lips mics. Are the 2 mics I have with Lips compatible with RB3 for the 3 part harmonies?

"DINGDONG♥HEARTS"
Reading through the Rock Band forums, various users mention that the Lips microphones work in Rock Band 3.

Edit: Look over this page for a clear answer: http://www.rockband.com/compatibility

Updated list..

Which of these are fun in Rock Band?
Which of these songs do you associate with DDR, as opposed to songs that just happen to be in obscure DDR games?

In An AC Game
Here It Goes Again
Feel Good Inc.

In An AC Game, But Different Artist
Word Up
Long Train Runnin
Kung-Fu Fighting
Centerfold

In A Western CS Game
Crushcrushcrush
Bad Romance
Just Dance
So What
Cool For Cats
The Boys Are Back In Town
Going Underground
Suddenly I See
We Got The Beat
Pork & Beans
Hungry Like The Wolf
Detroit Rock City
Heart Of Glass
Call Me
Hanging On The Telephone
Rock Lobster
Whip It
Take Me Out

-

For a set of songs I actually associate with DDR, I'd go with :
Word Up, Centerfold, Here It Goes Again, Feel Good Inc, Long Train Runnin, Kung-Fu Fighting, Bad Romance, Crushcrushcrush.

here you go, all my opinion obviously. i use the guitar controller pretty much exclusively, so i can only comment on guitar, bass, and 5-key (lol). i only included detroit rock city drums because every drummer i know loves it.

also, i recommend staying from kung-fu fighting and long train runnin'. kung-fu fighting is stupidly annoying, long train runnin' is a train wreck.

I agree that Kung-Fu fighting was a pain, and even though the Carl Douglas version was in an EU CS game, it's just not the same without the bad rapping :{

If you like awkward chords, Long Train Runnin' is for you. I like the song a lot so I don't mind playing it.

i dont like any song i get a 90%+ on but fail to even 5* because the strumming and chord patterns are so awkward i break every 20-30 notes. thats why i dont like long train runnin'.

Rumors going around that Ring of Fire will be a temporary exclusive to the Country Pack vol. 2 to be released in February.

The Harmonix pack are the same as they are found in the Rock Band 2 disc. They do not have harmony/key/ pro support except for drums. They are offered as a pack and you cannot avoid downloading Visions.

It turns out that there's a 2 GB upload limit on the microsoft servers for DLC, so they removed the Harmonix songs to reduce the file size. As such, the Wii owners of Rock Band 3 will never be able to play those songs on RB3 because of Nintendo's new policy with free DLC.

The Free Harmonix songs will not have Keys, Harmonies, or Pro Guitar/Bass, they're going to be just like the rest of the RB2 export.

And pertaining to the above discussion about DDR songs in RB, I forgot that Let's Dance is on Lego RB and it appeared on DDR Strike and the US Supernova 1 CS

Haha, that's so awesome. As for the free songs policy on the Wii, I think Harmonix should do something like offer the pack for a dollar, so the Wii owners could at least play the songs. I know it's not free, but it's the next best thing

Hey King of Light, how long did it take for you to reach the Completionist Rank? Did you finish all of the RB3 Goals on each instrument to do so? Did you use any of the DLC goals to help out?

The Harmonix pack will be available for everyone, except for the Wii users at this time. So you can download it if you have not exported the songs yet. This is probably the only method to play those songs in Rock Band 1.

I honestly have no idea how the Harmonix songs will be sorted. neither hmxhenry nor hmxpope mentioned anything about the sorting. My guess is that it will be sorted with Rock Band 2 since the file was split into two to get around the upload limit.

if they are RB3 DLC instead of RB2 DLC, they wont work in RB1 or RB2. if you use XBL or the PS store to buy your content instead of the harmonix store in the game you know that there are 4 sections now. RB, beatles RB, RBN, and RB3. the RB3 stuff was confirmed to not work with RB1 or RB2 because the files are made differently, plus all RB2 DLC with chord sweeps (HO/PO chords) wont work with RB1, so even if its RB2 DLC its not guaranteed to work in RB1.
