ReRave (Multi-Platform)

Hey, I finally got a chance to play this at the arcade this weekend.

It's actually really fun. I was worried about the charts being less than intuitive, but after getting used to coordinating position, rhythm, and different note types, most everything made sense. Full-screen is def easier for me to follow than half-screen. ReRave plays a lot like jubeat, but with less of a basis on reaction speed and with a couple extra degrees of freedom. I passed a 12 (Bits & Bytes [M]) on my third day

Some feedback from my experience:
＊It's waaaaaaaay too easy to chain TOO EARLY judgments. Like, this needs to get fixed. Being almost an entire beat early is really just not close enough.
＊The time allotted to log in is awfully short; if I mess up typing either my name or PIN I don't have enough time for a second shot.
＊The soundtrack is basically half cheese, to the point where newbies won't want to play it either. Also why are there two Tricky Disco songs The other half is pretty good overall though.
＊A good proportion of the charts have super fun patterns. More stuff like Hyper Elastic [M] please~ A couple of the charts did have overlapping notes that caused TOO EARLY issues, though (see above).

Can someone help me, I have this for my ipod touch and it is fun but when i try to do almost any DLC song it will crash. Any ideas why?

The game crashes on the iPad 1 too, low memory I think.

Thanks for the info.... Now why won't they just do a update i want to play EternuS, that's all I want.

I did tell them that sometimes it crashes back in January during EAG, I'm still waiting for that update before I spend more money on this.

For crashing, Try resetting the device and then uninstall and reinstall the game.

Can you define "half cheese"? As for "2 Tricky Disco" songs, Please elaborate? We have 2 Discotronic songs, HOWEVER they are both different and I can verify that after doing both album jackets for them, that they are not the same song ;)

Timers are set by the operator. There are 4-5 different length settings they can choose from. There isn't much the team can really do with that other than encourage operators to up the time limit.

A few of the house/pop/D'n'B songs definitely seem like filler. The ITG series originals haven't aged all that well. Face-book girls. Pretty Ugly.
This is all based on my personal taste of course, but when I was scrolling through the song list, I remember thinking pretty often, "Who would actually want to play this song?"

I know Shooting Star and Tricky Disco are different, but...but...they're not Especially after the 32nd notes in Shooting Star [M] start to appear. YOU CAN'T FOOL ME, DISCOTRONIC

No worries. Not trying to argue or anything here - Just trying to gain more insight! It's constructive comments like these that really do help.

Back to the songs, I agree - Some of them DO feel like fillers but every game has them (Cutie Chaser anyone?). Face-book Girls and Pretty Ugly are actually some of the most played songs in fact. Not every song will appeal to every player. I'm sure you have songs on the other games you like that you may not enjoy as well. It's inevitable that "those types" of songs will be in any game. Trust me when I say that there's a lot more great content coming (Note updates, skins, songs, etc).

I thought I'd make a post here about a ReRave tournament that we are hosting at Chinatown Fair on November 16th. Here are the rules, along with links with more information about the tournament. Any constructive criticism or feedback is certainly welcome.

On a different note, does anyone know of a ReRave community outside of the FB group? I'm trying to spread word of the tournament, but I'm not in touch with the ReRave crowd.

RULE SET

Chinatown Fair Rerave Tournament

This qualifier will start on 11/16/12(on a Friday) 5:30pm.
Entry fee: $10 ($8 entry fee and $2 goes to the store)
If anyone can’t follow the rules, the judge(s) can consider disqualifying one from the tournament.
The game will be on event mode.
16 – 32 man bracket
If someone failed to show up for their round, that person has 15 minutes to return or that person is DQed.
Everything will be played in half screen.
Qualifier will be announced at the start of the tournament.
Double Elimination.
If the song picker beat their opponent by life depletion, the person that picked the song MUST finish the song in order get the winning point.
There will be no recalculation on screen breaks.
No one touches the score screen until further notice. If a person fails following the rules, then you are DQed for that round.
If there’s a slight FPS lag, anyone can request the judge to reboot the machine.
If the game freezes or glitch out, that round will restart and the same exact song will be played again.
Higher seed chooses song while lower seed chooses side.
Best 2 out of 3 / Finals will be best 3 out of 5.
Third round will be on the random block. Also each player will get 1 veto point to avoid the random pick(once per round). If both players are out of veto points, the random must be played.
Each players that participate in the tournament are eligible to choose the same song only once. Excluding the Random block
From Round 1 to 3, there is going to be a limit in the level of songs that are chosen:

Round 1: Hard 6 and above Master 10 and below
Round 2: Hard 6 and above Master 11 and below
Round 3: Hard 7 and above Master 12 and below
Round 4+: No limit
Prizes:
1st 65% of the pot + 1000 tickets or 20 credits
2nd 25% of the pot + 500 tickets or 10 credits
3rd 10% of the pot + 130 tickets or 5 credits

Also, the ReRave team has been quiet for a while because they are going to surprise us at the IAPPA 2012 event next month.
It was also mentioned that there would be new songs (Gargoyle is likely to appear) to play during that event before it is released to everyone.
