And if I see hellrazor or n00b_saib0t on it I will kick you BOTH with my ENERGY LEGS.

<3 you all.

On a more related note, I passed my first 12' (Dead Souls SX) a couple weeks ago using a no-bar flatfoot/toe technique mix. So it is possible; don't stress it, agentmargo, just do what works for you.

Haha, thanks! I actually passed my first 12 on the same day I passed Charlene. It's called Zanarkand Nite. It's a great simfile.

So Aegis, any luck on more 11s?

If you're looking for an easy 11, I think you could try my "Ride on Goat" simfile, it's really straightforward as far as stream goes.

I think she's limited to ITG PS2 songs.

Have you tried playing with speed mods on, that helps me TREMENDOUSLY, and congrats on the pass, keep playing and you'll keep getting better.

This man speaks the truth.

Not only will reading higher speeds dramatically improve your timing, it will also greatly reduce any confusion as to "which foot goes where" during a stream, because there will be more space between each arrow.

You might find it easier on "overhead" arrow scroll (like official DDR, instead of ITG's default "hallway" which makes them scroll at an angle)

I can see the year 2020, someone finds a way to connect the pads to their brain to accept neural input.

"That's cheating!"

I'm not, I have stepmania. However, I have it for mac, which means that simfiles from stepmania.com will not be recognized. Sad
I'll be sure to download that.

LOL, I'm enjoying this thread now.

Also, how hard it The Beginning on ITG? I watched videos for it on YouTube and the steps don't look that hard.

Stamina run of 16ths.
Doesn't look difficult, correct, but things may not be easier than they seem.

Tried The Beginning, but didn't pass. Good news is that I passed Utopia today. I will try to get it on video sometime soon.

This. Crossovers :3
Not the hardest 11' but definitively not the easiest one.

I do aprove a lot ! You played Charlene with the defaut speedmods right ?
Slow speed can be confusing like Taro said.
You should try Charlene on x3 and see how it goes. Or maybe increase your speedmods little by little.
It might improve your scores and make you clear more songs.

If you passed Utopia with default speed, you are doing very good. Increasing the arrow speed will make you even better.

ITG technique at its finest. Aim to play like this man and you're on to a winner.

Oh come on that's totally unfair!

For one, the pad she's playing on is going to be nowhere near as sensitive as that, so there's no way you'd get away with stepping that fast, and 2, it's freaking Mad Matt!!

I don't know about that, I think he could get better scores by ditching the pad and using both hands to button mash a keyboard, the future of ITG won't need a dance pad anymore, just bring your keyboard to the arcade and hook it up.

On the other hand, Aim to play like this man and you will be on your way to becoming a DDR Legend!!

@hellrazor Haha, that video is awesome.
@mercury I'm still not getting the coordination to do that heel-toe technique. I also cannot bracket-rape on my afterburner mat because the center of it is higher then the arcade pad. I will try to work on that when I get to an arcade soon enough along with the technique.

Is it possible to play Pandemonium without the heel-toe technique? It seems like it would be.
Mod-wise, I really like the Overhead mod, so I have that on my defaults. I play Charlene and Utopia at x2 speed so I can comprehend the arrows and mines, but I will put it at x2.5 and try to get it down, and hopefully x3 soon.
Anyway, I will try to get a video of myself playing Utopia hopefully sometime this weekend and I will work on The Beginning.

Has anyone ever used the Puma Etoile shoes? I bought a pair, and they look exactly like the tapers, but I haven't gotten used to them ddr/itg-wise.

Yes it is. All the ITG songs (one and two) were designed to be played normally, and I've passed Pandemonium although with a LOW score, it's very challenging, but a pass is a pass. I haven't played it in years though because the song sounds horrible.

I want to move as fast as Mad Matt, though the easy bits of the song show a good heel-toe technique. on less sensitive pads it's all about moving slightly more, though hard enough to prevent misses or wayoffs. In Admstyles's DDR vids he uses the same play-style to get AAAs.

Depends on the shape of the sole. If yours is the same shape (solewise) and weight as Tapers then I'd say it's sufficient.
