"Let's Do the Rain Dance" |
Has anyone ripped videos from the X2 hard drive? Also, do you know of any other songs like this?
On the SuperNOVA hard drive, they're playable. I forgot which format they're in, but I know I can just click them and they play.
They would be nice to have. Again, do you know which songs are like this?
1. I'm still waiting for the category to be updated with the videos. I'm not sure if any of the other videos are different in terms of cuts, but I'll bet they are unique files in terms of resolution and quality.
2. Do you know if these videos are playable in StepMania? That would be a big boon.
3. All X2 licenses with widescreen (i.e. Hide Away, Feel Good Inc, Only My Railgun) are enhanced, and all crossovers and, perhaps originals with a video not displayed on a stage, are pillarboxed, which actually might save some SM'ers with 16:9 TVs (Me...) some trouble. Also, X crossovers and (I'm not totally sure) originals are pillarboxed. The licenses are still stretched. Any other videos are stretched.

Looking at the data folders for X:
None of the videos are pillar-boxed. So I doubt they are in X2 either. Basically the game is playing the video at native ratio despite having more screen than it needs.
Some of the videos in X had two different versions, a small version and a large version so they would look better on the HD displays. And one song (Tabibito) is only in widescreen (one video being small and letter-boxed, the other being large and widescreen).
I also looked at the Always on My Mind video, the version that's in the X arcade has different footage towards the end. But looking at both videos I can't tell why either of them would need to be censored. Apart from just being weird and disturbing, as any respectful British music video from the 80s was.
The videos made after SuperNOVA 2 that appear in X are somewhat larger in resolution than the previous game's videos.

What I meant is that some songs like Dazzlin' Darlin are in 4:3 in the 16:9 display, being placed in the center with black boxes surrounding it. That's what I meant by pillarboxing. Aeron, I know that ZERO and Nadeshiko have this formatting, and I think Flourish may have this.
About Always on My Mind, there's actually scenes in the middle and end with Nazis (not sure?) conferencing, along with a shot of some guy before the puppet. I think, at least for the Nazis, there was reasoning for the censoring.
Since these files are examinable, can they be released for the similes? It seems curious that we don't already have these.

Don't hurt me if this is in the wrong place, but I updated the .sm files from the official category with updates from the X3 location test.
You can get them here -> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19359300/X2%20new%20ratings.zip
(.sm only)

Can somebody who ripped stepcharts from X2 HDD share the altered/fixed stepcharts of Healing-D-Vision?

Now that X3 already has a beta category and everything, shouldn't this one be finished? I mean the videos. All we have right now is the HP3 and X2 PS2 vids for DPISPAMH, Bonafied, and Feel Good Inc, along with a broken frame rate video of Delta MAX. Shouldn't the real X2 AC videos be added? (If they are, it'd be great if there was an HD Widescreen alternate video pack!)

The category is hidden. The videos used for certain simfiles were YouTube rips and not direct rips, which is why they are not on the official category.

When someone decides to get properly ripped videos from the X2 hard
drive, I'm sure they will be put up on the Official X2 category.

Thanks for al2k4 for that the official catagory of DDR X2 AC has been update with official data ripped out, but the banner in the simfile catagory has been cropped
So may I request the complete album art ripped in DDR X2 ? Thus we can complete the SM-AMX as below:

Whoever did the X2 version of deltaMax severely screwed up the sync. The BPM's are all over the place when the song obviously increases 1 BPM per measure. Instead the sim wildly varies the BPM. This needs to be fixed.

If I recall correctly, deltaMAX increased 1 bpm for every step in it's now--on-DDR chart. It had 473 "steps," 100 of which are jumps. Hence the progression and why there are a hundred places in the song where it jumps up 2 bpm.

deltaMAX's BPMs are actually how it is in-game, nothing to fix.
