Keeps on getting betterSmile
Would the wheel item spacing in the metrics be able to pull the music banner images closer together?

We're trying to fix that.
Oh I didn't know you had a partner for this. The more help, the betterSmile
So has there been any progress been made on other screens such as select style?

I am also wondering if it is possible to pull this off:
Have two screen select styles where the first one will have your "Happy Mode" and "Pro mode". Then have "Happy Mode" lead you straight to the song wheel set to Basic (or Beginner) on Singles when selected. Then have the "Pro Mode" lead you to the second screen select style where you can choose singles, doubles, etc.
Am I overestimating the potential of 4.0 or does this sound realistic(ish)?

I might try it out when I wake up tomorrow... *yawns*
For arguement's sake, you could probably do that in 3.9 as well. It would involve one of those branch things.

Yes, I've seen things like that before, in 3.9+ themes like NX2. It's never been really close to a true Cover Flow before, but...

We're almost there, wheel wise
Let me guess, in the code for the wheel itself you have the center banner set to display edge first. But you also have some code, like in the Select Music section of the metrics, that displays the banner again right-side forward. Is this more or less correct?

Yeah I noticed the official site had that. The site also has a few small screenshots if needed for reference.

Would it be asking too much if I requested a video so we can get a glimpse of the theme?

Are they not using the Almost timing anymore?

Yeah, but I took liberties and made my own Almost graphic cause SM still uses the system we all know and love

You could've made the Almost and Boo judgements both Miss, for arcade accuracy.

they're still on the results screen though. i think you can make one not show, but then your step count is inaccurate.

I had this exact thought until I realized that problem as well. Unless there is a way to somehow combine the number of almost and boo together.

I don't get what's "fast" and the "slow" thing appearing when you get a Great or Perfect judgement for?

Also, (sorry of the off topic question) what console will the DDR X2 JP version be used? Ps2 or Ps3?

It shows you if you are late or early with the timing (with a marvelous, you wont have this).

The fast and slow timing thing happened to first show up in In The Groove. As such, it should be able to work in this, but I don't know sm-ssc well at all.

And this is technically based on the new arcade version of X2. I'm hoping that DDR PS3 will use it as a basis, but I don't know anything about it yet. Until 12 August if we're lucky. Also there has never been any sort of X2 release for PS2 in Japan, if you want to get technical.

I think I'm gonna try and see if I can at least put in early/late markers, though they will be more like the ITG version. Bizarrely the default sm-ssc theme leaves it out.
