Sadly, I have met people who are like that, and honestly I don't know why they are like that at all. They give the term "gamers" a bad name.//

Well, I'd break joysticks (and would swear profusely) out of anger from video games...
...when I was about 12. I grew out of it and learned to control my anger by the time I was 16 or so, though.
But pulling this subject back to DDR, I've seen people thump and kick DDR machines when they mess up (even on the screen - not good seeing as theres a 5mm glass sheet protecting the monitor). Doing something destructive to your own stuff = silly, doing something destructive to other people's stuff = inappropriate.

A coupld of days I broke a PS2 disc out of anger. It was Wipeout Fusion though, so it did deserve it. The breakage was phenomenal as well.

I think it depends on one's favourite song(s).
For example, someone who likes fast and hardcore songs has different pwesonality from someone who like "calm songs".

First of all, he's doing it wrong The proper control scheme isn't on the row of the keyboard nearest the monitor. Solves one of his problems right there.
Besides that, yeah, he needs to take a loooooooong breather. And not blame the monitor. Is it possible that hole behind the monitor is caused by previous assaults?
About the same timeline for me, actually. That's why I don't aim directly to PA anything anymore - because I'm afraid I'll make a monster out of myself.
DDR's nice, because when I fail a hard song and get angry, I don't have the energy to do anything about it

This.
I'll admit that I used to do that kind of stuff...... when I was 10. Nowadays if I get a shitty score I'll be like "eh, whatever, I could probably do better". No raeg whatsoever.

Sadly, now that I think about it, I did get this mad only about a month ago at Saints Row 2. However, instead of taking it out physically on the game, I unleashed my anger verbally on someone in my XBox Live party. Admittedly, the guy had it coming for months, so I don't feel bad in the least.
Also, relevant.

Anyway, back on topic....
There have been times recently where I have gotten slightly angry towards video games, and during said times I'll usually just be like "this is bullshit". But it's not like I'll be throwing the controller at the screen, kicking the system, tearing the posters off my walls etc.
If you seriously get that raeg-filled at not winning a game (or in the case of DDR/SM/ITG/whatever, getting a good score), you really need to get your priorities checked.

GT3-4 endurance races that ends up taking 2 days and your system feels like being an arse to not save properly, manages the whole memory card with all your saved data from all your games and it all turns to dust. sh1t hits the fan and it is all over folks. all over.

I used to get yell-angry somewhat often, but not so much anymore.
I think the last time I got mad enough to cause physical damage to a game was NBA Hangtime for the N64. Trying to beat the Chicago Bulls gave me the FITS, so I threw the game across my bedroom. It still worked afterward, but something inside the cartridge would rattle anytime I shook it.

I don't usually get mad when playing video games, I think the last time I threw my controller was during Gears of War in the 4th chapter on Hardcore (Tourk Bows is a bitch )
