Here it is !

The biggest european festival for japanese entertainement is back !

Presentation :

Since the first edition, Japan Expo assigned itself two golden words: knowledge and entertainment. From Manga to J-Pop, Cosplay shows to Martial Arts, the festival tackles as much traditional Japanese culture as contemporary pop culture.

Japan Expo is not a mere festival but a real party event! Among the many exhibitors you can find all the publishers of the Manga, Anime and video games markets, a great deal of shops, Young Designers under Japanese influence, as well as hundreds of fanzines and amateur booths.

The festival is also a place of amazing meetings between passionate people who like to gather around thousands activities: conferences, fashion shows, martial arts initiations, previews, Cosplay, Karaoke contests, video game tournaments, live concerts…

But Japan Expo would be nothing without its prestigious guests! Mangaka, character designers, singers, directors, authors… Coming from Japan, France and other countries they have the opportunity here to meet their public and other artists.

For the 2010 new edition, the entire Japan Expo team is preparing a great deal of novelties, surprises and special activities for you. Of course, we cannot unveil everything now but here is a quick preview of some new activities: you will be able to take baseball lessons, the Japanese national sport, thanks to a Batting Center, but also discover the last music trends with the J.E. Music Box. You will be able to vote for the best video clips with the J.E. Music Contest. Eventually you will live an incredible experience through a giant photo exhibition, a true experience of Japanese countryside without leaving the festival!

Events:

Cosplay

As time goes by, Cosplay has become one of the most popular events at Japan Expo. That’s why there are more and more events related to Cosplay, to allow the attendees to have a complete view of this eternal Japanese trend. They can even take part in it! The Cosplay shows put forward the best French competitors, taking part in the parades on a tremendous stage: almost 15,000 people cheering the event and giving a unique atmosphere to the shows! The World Cosplay Summit, co-organized by TV Aichi in Japan, and whose stop in France bears the initials J.E, also allows the French winners to compete with the best Cosplayers on Earth!

Yet you do not need to compete with the best to try Cosplay in a purely friendly spirit: in the festival alleys, thousands of fans feel free to disguise as their favorite heroes or artists (Manga, Anime, Movies, Video games and even J-Music!). Every day, Japan Expo is a real show!

And since Cosplay is so inescapable, prodigious, entertaining and – will I say the words?? – so exhilarating and federative, Japan Expo is the first event all over the world to offer such a huge stage, entirely dedicated to this activity. Anybody can come and parade, without contest, without subscription list – in a word, free as the wind!

Fashion

Thanks to fashion shows and the Young Designers booths, Japan Expo is proud to help Japanese fashion develop in all its styles. The attendees gladly do their part of the job, since Tokyo street fashion can also be seen in the festival alleys!

It is the ideal place to discover original creations by dozens of creators, and maybe, who knows, you will find your next outfit in the Young Designers Village! This area is totally dedicated to “fashion addicts” and keeps growing every year, offering more clothes, more accessories, for an extravagant, gothic or lolita chic look! Now it is up to you to decide, whatever your style, whatever your taste!

J.E. Live House

Edition after edition, concerts take a greater place at Japan Expo and now in the attendees’ hearts. Huge stars accepted to come at Japan Expo in the past few years, like Yoshiki (X Japan), the band AciD FLavoR, and the girls from Scandal, Betta Flash or Plastic Tree! A dozen of Japanese groups gave a show on the darkened stage of the J.E. Live House!

Now the J.E Live House has become the beating heart of the festival thanks to its capacity of 8,000 people. Imagine the incredible atmosphere in the place when thousands of people cheer their favorite stars together at the same time… You have to experience it to believe it!

Anime Screening

As time goes by, Japan Expo has made a name for itself, even in Japan. That’s how Japanese editors themselves wish to take part to the programming of our Projection Rooms! It is not only French exclusive Anime that we offer, but also and above all Word previews of the current Anime market. In 2008, a special montage of the new Cobra OAV was displayed to the public, testimony of an industry of entertainment more and more present among Japan Expo’s associates!

Let’s also thank the French editors who try hard to offer each year dozens of exclusive Anime!

Cultural Stage

The traditional cultures of Japan and other countries have always fascinated pop culture fans. The cultural stage, where Japan unveils its entire splendor during four days, is the ideal place to attend true traditional shows: Minyô, Kimono display, Ikebana, conferences, Nihon Buyô dance, tea ceremony, and many more!

It is a unique occasion to meet Japanese artists and passionate fans of Japan whose only goal is to display the most genuine aspects of their culture, which is often richer than imagined.

Dedicated Areas

Exhibitors

PublTextishers, shops, magazines, webzines, fanzines, and exhibitions: Japan Expo is the place to be for the Manga, Comics and Japanese culture industry!

Well-stocked booths, cultural products directly from Japan, any types of goodies, information about travelling, games… bliss in the alleys of Japan Expo! Come and discover the latest Manga, buy products showing your favorite heroes, admire the creativity and originality of hundreds of fanzines and webzines, or improve your knowledge by working with Japanese exhibitors who made a special trip to Japan Expo!

Video Games

Between Video Games and Japan Expo it has always been a great love story! In 2002 already, the official Dance Dance Revolution space made people faint! Year after year, the space dedicated to entertaining technologies has got bigger and bigger to welcome more exhibitors: many publishers of course (Nintendo, Ankama, Ubisoft, SquareEnix, Microsoft, Bandai Namco...). You can also find online amateur game developers and MMORPG developers, whose goal is to make the attendees discover all types of games by offering free play all day long. They also organize a great deal of tournaments and contests!

And of course you will find one of the most popular games ever: the musical games! Meet with the most talented performers of DDR, BeatMania, Guitar Hero, or Taiko no Tatsujin, during amazing tournaments!

Sports and Martial Arts

From the beginning, Japan Expo has always been proud to welcome the Japanese Martial Arts. As time goes by, all the Asian sports have found a place within the festival. This year, more than ever, Asian Martial Arts will be well represented: Kendô, Jûdô, Karate, Aikidô, Viêt Vo Dao, Wu Shu… in order to get lessons and attend several demonstrations and shows in the large Martial Arts area – 4,000 sqm –and the Exhibition Stage!

This year the festival honors new events: Kyûdô, Japanese archery, true Budô originating from the War Era, will be present in Japan Expo for the first time.

But one of the sport events of Japan Expo 10th Impact was the presence of a Batting Center, so that you can take baseball lessons, one of the most popular sports in Japan, often tackled in movies or in Manga!

Games and activities

Japan Expo is first and foremost a full-size playground! A place where game culture in all its forms meets the attendees: board games, role playing games, video games, trading card games, figurines... Everything is a reason to play and have a good time, with your family or friends. Indeed you will soon realize that game associations and booths are well established at Japan Expo.

It is also the occasion to try Japanese traditional games, like Go, Othello or Shôgi, but also Asian games such as the unavoidable Mah-Jong, a very popular game in Japan. The most talented among the attendees will challenge other players in tournaments in a very festive atmosphere.

Don’t be surprised: hundreds activities take place at the same time everywhere in the festival and they are hugely successful every year. Musical games, Karaoke, blindtests, quizzes, tournaments, treasure hunts… It’s time to put your music knowledge to the test, sing Anime themes dating back to your childhood or compete with the best performers at Dance Dance Revolution!

Traditional Culture

One of Japan Expo’s goals is to make the public discover all the faces of Japan, by contributing to the development of traditional culture. Many associations take part in this effort, with activities such as Ikebana (the Japanese art of arranging flowers), Origami, tea ceremony, calligraphy, painting, traditional games, Matsuri, cooking or conferences about strong cultural issues (Manga in society, the Japanese way of thinking, great historical battles, etc.).

The public is invited to discover different ancestral practices through various initiations and shows, always by professionals or passionate and talented amateurs. Many activities about Zen spirit are also planned: be sure to get relaxed with the French Institute of Shiatsu, areas dedicated to Yoga, Reiki and other traditional massages.

Four:

A Geisha's Dream / NAOKI feat. SMiLE.dk
INTO YOUR HEART (DAM EDIT) / NAOKI feat. YASMINE
La receta / Carlos Coco Garcia
NIGHT OF FIRE / NIKO

And based on that 10 minute video, the songlist seems the same. It has only been a couple weeks after all Tongue.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
Based on the videos I've seen, it appears to have the extended intro seen in the full version of the song, but besides that, it is the same.
