From a recent Betson press release:
Quote
...DDRX2 has been shipping to locations all over the country and reports are very impressive. ...The dance floor has also been re-engineered to endure the high volume of play associated with this wildly successful product....

Wonder what reports they were reading? Last time I checked the pads still suck.

Unless there's something I missed.

I'm back

The version is the same as Foire Du Trône or Chambery (20101207)... But there is still something strange... Drift issues is more important on some songs but drift is not on many songs... Second Heaven and Delta Max were completly offsync (i have a picture. THK [1st player in France] did a bad score). The pad was old and some arrow did not work.

Damn it. I was so happy to try it in 10 days.

@Brazen : THK won several french tournement in the past 6 years, he plays a lot of ryhms games and he's pretty good at arrows games (for what i know/saw). So if he could not pull out a decent score... well you know what it means.
I'll still try it myslef just to see how bad is it.

I've met him in the past. He's an alright guy!

Right now KONAMI are aware of the issue and say new software will fix it, however I don't know how its going to get distributed as the software/hardware follows this order;

US > Electrocoin > Crown Leisure > Arcade.

Keep in mind this bug only affects upgraded machines, dedicated X2's are fine.

I went to Betson's warehouse in Hayward (Northern California) earlier today. They had an X2 there but it was not set up. So, no build date.

They told me this machine is heading to Century 14 Theater in Vallejo next week.

Finally, a DDRX2 in Northern California!

"OMG KON!"
I just got back from Gameworks Schaumburg. Wow the new "prototype" sensors are already starting to act funky. One sensor would hold the arrow and unjam on every step. And on the other side the left arrow is triggered by pressing pretty much any of the other arrows. This was pretty much the same thing that happened at first when we got this machine so the new sensors have done nothing to improve gameplay sadly. I'll keep everyone updated on how it is next week.

If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it.

Well come and play the Technika 2 machine at least. The machine is still salvageable in its current state. The sensors causing the problems just need to be unplugged and removed so maybe Gameworks will do that.

@3x0t1c - The sales rep let me in the warehouse to show me the machine. He also had a few other DDR machines including one that was converted into a push-cart. (Think of a gutted cabinet with the top half missing.) Sad

I received an e-mail from the sales rep earlier today telling me that X2 is now up and running at the Century Theaters in Vallejo.

I'll go there Saturday to confirm and to play a few (or a dozen) rounds. Big Grin

Hey hey! I'm proud to announce that Century 14 Theaters indeed has a nice and shiny X2 cabinet. The version number is JDX:U:A:A:2010120700. I'll post some pictures when I get back.

Edit: Err, or not, my camera derped out. Sad

Can someone remind me about the timed unlocks for FIRE FIRE and 888?

IIRC FIRE FIRE was on Tuesday and 888 was on date/times with "8" in it right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this work only on machines with eAmuse?
