My bad, I'm really concerned about that lag on that machine. I will probably have to contact EC about it.

Well it's an upgrade. I rememer saying this months ago "If we get some X2 dedicab it might be good but an upgrade from X to X2 would kill the game."
Because what we have is a X2 cab with a X lag :s
I don't know if you can fix this on an upgrade (if so, why not fix DDRX too ?).

@Sephy : Did you already play on a DDRX(EU) before this ? Because i'm sure you're not used to screen lag yet.
Thanks for all the pics. All the french stuff confuse me, that's funny.

I really wish they decided to put out an upgrade kit for cabinets before X. Most arcades have SuperNOVA2 or older so a lot of arcades don't have a cheaper option. Not every arcade is that willing to shell that much money for a brand new cabinet.
If anything, I think it would be best to not provide an upgrade for the DDR X cabinet unless Konami finds a way to fully or at least mostly fix the lag issue.

I remember playing once or twice (at least once at Japan Expo last year (and the year before), and once on an American DDR X in Canada), and you're right, I never got used to the lag... and to be honest, I don't want to Oops I mean a rhythm game shouldn't lag at all in my opinion.

Just to be more precise on the lag of Chambéry's X2: In fact it's not that bad... well... it IS bad but not in an unplayable way... how should I put it... this seems like DDR X all over again. When I played, I mostly did Greats when I'm quite sure it should have been Perfect or Marvelous. I'm fairly sure the average casual player wouldn't be annoyed, or would most likely not even realize there's a lag... But for DDR players (like everyone here I believe, I'm also thinking at the players in my town) it's night and day between this and say... a Japanese SN2 or an ITG2 Very Happy

Thinking about the infamous drift bug (I have lurked this topic for quite a time without posting Puppy Face), I remember having more Marvelous and Perfects in the beginning of the song, and more Greats and Goods towards the end; but this really could be just me.

On a more positive note... I really like the songlist Happy And I'm really looking forward to see an X2 at the local arcade... either a Japanese X2 or an European... The owner is hesitating between them (both have pros and cons...)

So this is really in Schaumburg, Illinois... that's not too far away. I don't like driving, but maybe I could motivate myself to go to this, since I think it could be fun. But probably not soon given other trips in the near future.
That's the closest DDR X2 near the Wisconsin-Illinois border

Seattle Gameworks has 6 DDR machines now?

If I'm not mistaken and they didn't take any out then yes, yes we do! Big Grin

Edit: Further searching tells me that we have all of the previous mixes there. So DDR USA, EXTREME, SuperNOVA, SuperNOVA 2, X, and X2 are in place.

That one line there probably made over half the ZIV members change their underwear.

So jelly...

Yeah, we JUST got SuperNOVA 2 a few months ago. DDR X is the Non-Japanese version so, that means crap pads and LAAAAG!
I haven't been there in over a year but the pads are usually in good condition as the regulars that go there talk about them.

This does not matter, you guys have an entire lineage of US/JP (Count Extreme) DDR machines in one row/location.

Well it's not like I get to go often. But yeah, It's pretty FANFUCKINGTASTIC.
I just wish we had a chance at e-Amuse in the States. I'm sure Gameworks Seattle would be one customer besides the one in Schaumburg. Those lucky sons and daughters of bitches and getting to location test IIDX GOLD and GFDM V4 WITH e-Amuse

Hmm...do you mean when they tested IIDX GOLD at the Brunswick Zone in Naperville, IL? I was there for that as well as the SuperNOVA location test and was able to get an American e-Amuse card. Freakin' sweet times. Nothing ever came of it though I guess seeing as how they never got any IIDX machines or GFDM.
If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it.

I was there for all the location tests Smile Very fun times. Its very sad to hear the full story behind what really happened behind the scenes as I am probably one of the only few that probably found out and was told the entire story. Sadly it seemed Brunzwick Zone was supposed to be the big purchaser of the BEMANI machines which justified location tests for all the machines. The locations were supposedly going to be running the e-amuse service on the machines as well. To put things simply Ryan was promoted and the man who took his position didn't really take things over too well and either sat on it or decided not to continue the "project". Konami it seemed still tried to sell e-amuse at the very least however due to the high costs of the router and the strict service requirements no one purchased it. I was there through each location test and of the very beginning and end of the e-amuse service in America... obtaining the highest rank and supported the system more then most players.

Just looking back brings back some pretty crazy memories...

"My paw is incompurrable!"
^Can it be any song? Or does it have to be Kimono Princess? If it is Kimono Princess, what are the allowable foot ratings to access it on expert? (I got AA on one 8-footer and 2 9-footers and only got basic, although it kinda sounds pointless in my case.)

It has to be on Kimono Princess... I am not sure if you need to play it on Expert but to even unlock the Expert chart for play you will need your songs for the round you play add up to at least 40.

For instance...
Yellow Candy - 13
on the bounce- 15
Pluto - 14
Your round total - 42

All of the songs you play must be AA'd to achieve the extra stage as well.

"MAGGLE"
Just fail the requirements for the Heavy stepchart. However, even if you AA that, you won't get EES.

The requirement varies on the number of songs you can play on the machine. For 3 songs, you need 30 to get Kimono Princess Heavy.

Oh, and I'm 75% sure that you have to get AA for all your songs to go to Extra Stage.

Thank you so much, Lord Toon!

You do have to AA all songs for Extra Stage.
