@Aaron Thanks man! Great to see you beasted out Hades! I don't know if I can get that one AAA'd yet, but sure as hell aint going to do it on the only SuperNOVA 2 in Illinois Tongue

@Mr_eX 5th's timing is the most awkward (besides EuroMIX). You would have to play it for a while to adjust, and then afterwards when you are done with the mix you will need to re-adjust. It plays later then most earlier mixes but its window is very tiny. Some songs have very odd sync issues as well. You really need to play around with it to understand everything.

I thought 1stMIX was the mix with the weirdest timing? Any other pre-MAX games with weird timing?

I'm not sure but that's why my friend and I purchased Extreme because as you can see the timing for most songs are nearly spot on and it's easy to tell if you're off beat when hitting a yellow step (perfect) as apposed to a white step (marvelous).

Would Someone Post a World Record Picture or Link of a 5 Song Total Score on Extreme and Supernova(+) Here Please ?!!!?

I need to BEAT the Extreme one as I will have a LOT of time to do that (490000000 = highest possible), and keep my eye on the highest score out of 500000000 too for SN (+).

And a 7 song score on Extreme too (690000000).

My best is 26 Greats with 3 non-combos Sakura, Max 300, Max 300 again, The Legend of Max, and Kakumei.

I forgot the DP but if anyone here beside DJ Sterf has I better score would you please post it? Thanks! Appreciate it!

5thMIX's timing isn't awkward at all, it's just very tight compared to other arcade releases.

I am going to disagree with you on that. Both me and Sword both think the timing is really wonky. It is noticeably tighter, yes, but you need to hit later on 5th then you do on 4th Mix PLUS and 3rd to register a Perfect. You can argue with me all you want about it, but I played 5th Mix for a couple months straight at the end of 2011 and it took days to get back onto DDR EXTREME's timing, and that was after I AAA'd Romance No Kamisama on top of that.

Ahh!!! Kon is right. Timing is different between those mixes. And it does take DAYS to get used to. But NEXT TOPIC LOL!!!

Does anyone know what the highest Extreme 5 song and 7 song scores are? I would like to know so I can jot them under my to do list!!!!!

Let's see: DJ Sterf got 99.4% in 2007 while playing Sakura, Max 300, Sakura, LOM, then OMES. was 20 greats = 1, 6, 0, 9, 4

Blue Mystik I'm assuming could get 3 or less if he recieved the challenge, so I'm aiming for an SDG at least.

KON I'm giving you a CHALLENGE! Get under 20 Greats in a 3 song round with the 2 extra stages on an EXTREME Machine and post either PICTURE or VIDEO. You will most likely play before I will as I'm no where near a machine for another month or so.

I played 5thMIX for a good deal longer than that and I actually nixed the part of my comment comparing 5th to EXTREME. So...

EXTREME is the one that's odd between the two, most all DDR games time the visuals so that the perfect box is dead centered (as best as the frame rate would allow) to the receptors on the screen. For EXTREME the perfect box feels dropped low against the receptors. SuperNOVA 2 did something similar. The timing is right, but visually you seemingly have to step the arrow early. Every time I've spent a good deal of time on a DDR machine that is not EXTREME or SN2 and gone back to an EXTREME or SN2, there's a re-learning period to get used to the visual oddity of the arrow timing again... that's not the case for any other mix.

5thMIX's timing took me a lot of effort to get used to (I went from regularly playing a DDRMAX to 5th, so it wasn't because of the increased frame rate). But once I got used to it, my PA was consistent.

#013 - Fantasy (Melissa) AAA

http://youtu.be/IiV0s5l7Kls

First video of a AAA I've actually published. I've only managed to catch a couple of AAAs on video, I normally get all camera shy.

Oh well, at least I've got something better than pictures now.

Personaly i found it hard to look at the flashs lol. Also, there is a few songs that doesn't have a timing "spot on" at all, but ofc, it's been so long that i didn't played extreme that i can't really remember the songs :/ (iirc, "Little Bitch" have a weird sync for exemple).

Brittany that's a nice AAA there (shaky mod Big Grin). Do you have somthing else than Max2 here you play ?

Accomplishment # 1: (Forgot to post this 2 weeks ago) When I went to play DDR @ Magical Midway in Orlando, the In The Groove Machine near by had a free final stage song and no one was around! I chose Vertex^2 Expert just to try the pads out and see that they are still in working condition. I bracketed the first 80%, then ended up with a 50 - 60 combo at the end, as I tried my best and got a decent on an easy part (my fault). Scored the lowly machine record of 83.XX. My best is 89.7X scored in 07'.

Yeah, a lot of song's sync sucks as I said MOST songs lol. But for anyone who wants to argue that BAG has bad sync just has a problem hitting arrows at generally the correct time. I don't think BAG would make that list because it has it's own rhythm and the song CAN help you go to the beat. My SN record is 3, my SN 1X record is 6 (08).

Recent Accomplishments: Last week at 6 flags on an Extreme machine.

A DDR player's friend walked up to me while I was playing and said:

"I have a friend who plays DDR really good"

I say:

"Oh yeah! What difficulty does he play on?"

She says:

"Heavy...Uh, I mean Challenge!"

I'm like:

"Really. Tell him to come here, I have to see him play!"

Moments later, after I introduce myself and we play 3 of the 4 song set I say:

"It's your turn to pick a song."

As he's going through the list he stops on PSM!

I say to him:

"Put it on Challenge if you're gonna play that."

He's like:

"Yeah, right. I haven't played in a very long time"

I reply:

"Your friend said you are a challenge player, NOT a heavy player."

He instantly picks the song and is ready to go! Haha LMFAO!

I step off as soon as the up arrow was giving me problems (18%),

and he fails after 20% of the song (he still had life remaining!).

The next set he did pretty well on by himself, so I'm assuming he

isn't used to playing while another person is beside him.

Accomplishment (#2): A small crowd of about 8 formed around us

when we played PSMO, soon after he left (3 sets later), I played

doubles: Maxx Unlimited, Max 300, and The Legend of Max. The

crowd was 3 times as large and speechless lol. I love non-DDR

players haha! I improved my Full Perfect Combo of The Legend

of Max to nearly half way of the song after not playing doubles

on a working DDR Extreme since 07'.

Haha nice, the same thing happened to me when I played (and FAILED) Paranoia Survivor Heavy last weekend, non-DDR players are impressed by the simplest things Laughing Out Loud I'd assume you got a somewhat different reaction seeing the MAXs on double are a lot harder Laughing Hard

Lol, thanks, I need to find a better place for my camera rather than on top of the P2 Bar.

I don't really tend to play anything other than Max 2, it's my favourite mix by far. I occasionally switch to Extreme but currently I'm trying to AAA Max 2 so that is my focus.

Its a very good mix because of the fact that 100 percenting courses doesn't require all marvelous as it's only perfects. And also, isn't a AA possible with a full combo even if it's all greats?

I know it is fun to put arrogant and cocky players in their place if they walk right into it and all, but there is no indication from that from the rest of your story. Just some friend that maybe saw him play on "oni" difficulty which could have been for anything, and it would be true that he "plays on challenge". Unless he himself was bragging about how great he was, what you did was a bit rude. Just because someone plays...Burning the Floor Blue Fire mix (random example) doesn't mean you should immedately shove PSMO down their throat to prove their "worthiness" and mock them (even behind their back) if they can't do well at it.

Again, maybe I am missing part of they story where this player was all cocky and arrogant, but it didn't seem that way from what I read.

/me has no new AAAs/PFCs other than that Paranoia Hades one but hopes to finish off Amalgamation Challenge single when he gets a chance to play again.

He knew I wasn't taking it seriously, and he had chosen to do Paranoia Survivor Max so I told him to put it on Challenge since his buddy there says he does Challenge! Lmao!!!

He didn't brag, lmbo. You only see teenagers brag. If a decent player in there mid thirties AAA's PSMO with under 20 perfects he or she would say: "Ah, that works." And that's about as much brag as it will get lol!

No, definitely not. haha. Smile

It's quite loose in a way, you can get more greats and end up with a AAA, but not by much. I'd say.. around 13-15% greats and you'll be able to AA with an FC.

You're probably thinking of Euromix 2. That's worse. lol

And yeah, on the topic you're discussing. I see people do this all the time. Remember, DDR is just harmless, it's just a video game. I often see people pick stuff like PSM then quietly sneak behind and hit the down arrow twice. They always see. D: I just like to see people challenged. Tongue If people are bragging, stick em on some 10s and watch. Big Grin

lol! You are hilarious, everyone back in 2004 used to do that in the arcade I went to. I seen someone do that later to a poor guy in 2007 at Universal Studios, and he said I can't do this song (after the time ran out). I told him I'll do it for him as he never seen me play before. He trusted me and I AA'd PSMO for him. I think originally he was going for PSM but he looked the other way while letting the time run out and another dude switched the song and difficulty. I wonder if it's the same person I saw when DDR Extreme still existed at IOA.

Anyways, I played some 20 minutes of ITG today and accidentally deleted the video I wanted to keep. Oh well. Another day, hopefully before I leave these mountains of Vermont.

KON I'm giving you a CHALLENGE! Get under 20 Greats in a 3 song round with the 2 extra stages on an EXTREME Machine and post either PICTURE or VIDEO. You will most likely play before I will as I'm no where near a machine for another month or so.
My DDR machine is currently down right now. I don't know when its going to be back up and running so its going to take me a while either way due to me having to do some other work to other machines at the same time.

Also I don't usually play the Extra Stages seriously because I typically play on Event Mode (no extra stages). You can see a perfect round of the game at the end of this video at the very least (for now)...
