DH today actually managed to catch the problem in time and probably throttled the customer's resources on the server so it should be fine from now on, but I'm not getting my hopes up...
Bump: We are on the new server now.
Bump: Brace yourselves for some downtime around 1am PST Tuesday as DH are moving the database servers around.
Bump: DH cocked something up after a restart. Max upload file size is now back to 7mb.

Oh boy. This is going to be some fun stuff.
Could you tell me the point of switching the databases? Is there not enough memory on it to handle the website, or does it just need to be renewed? I would like some sort of explanation to all this as I am a confused xRGTMx.

Never mind. Apparently it's my fault that it's being bumpy despite having days where it's perfectly fine. I think I need to move hosts if they keep saying it's me.

Dreamhost sound like a pack of idiots. Their hosting might be fairly solid for the most part but the website doesn't have anything that should make it commit suicide like it often seems to. Bleargh.

The server down time has progressively gotten worse. What the hell is dreamhost doing about this?

Really depends on when your on, However hooky is right. High loads are up about 3-5 times as much now. I don't know if you (Al) can do much about it or if it's a dreamhost thing or what, but it's starting to get annoying.
Sorry if I seem pissed, I've just been in a ton of heat tonight.

hooky stop making useless posts like the one above this one.
I've implemented a block of code that kills any queries that take longer than 7 seconds writing to network which should remove the query backlog.

Well, it's not done much about the High Loads. Is there any idea what exactly is causing it?

The site's hosted on a shared server. Al's been great about the whole thing, watching site load and queries, but the other sites clearly aren't as nice and they seem to pile up tons of slow SQL queries and MySQL just jams up when that happens.
