"BEEJAY REVEL A" |
Ok so this has been starting to bug me now. When I play 360 games or arcade games, there are always black bars on the top and bottom of my TV! Making some games hard to read text, ex. Banjo Kazooie N&B. Now I know my settings are all correct, it's just a standard TV and the 360 has been set to 480p and screen format to Normal. The menu does not have this problem though. It's only when playing a game that displays the black bars. What's even more weird is that for fun I put it in widescreen and the bars when away, but had a distorted image. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of these black bars on the screen? It's driving me nuts as my friends do not have this problem
Also I won't be on till an hour later, earth hour

Some games, Eternal Sonata, Soul Calibur IV, and Mass Effect are some examples, are letterboxed on standard definition TVs, like mine, and cannot be changed. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is probably one of those games. On the other hand, Call of Duty 4 and Street Fighter IV doesn't letterbox on Standard Definition TVs.
This post would've been longer because I was somewhat confused. I wasn't sure whether you had a software issue or a hardware issue.

Here are a few more games I played that are fixed to Widescreen and is letterboxed for standard-def TVs, if anyone is interested. Of course, this is normal, though when playing Dead Rising, the text was so small it was impossible to read on standard TVs.
Blue Dragon
Dead Rising
Guitar Hero: World Tour
Guitar Hero: Metallica
Forza Motorsport 2

Also, PGR4. The top of the HUD is obscured in-game dues to the height being wrong. Also, good luck trying to read the smaller text on a 19" TV.
