UBeat = Jubeat
Jukebeat = Jubeat Ripples, according to BMS.

Oh yeah i know that...

...it's just the name is like a big "WTF?" to me considering that if this were to be released in the US, i would expect someone go up to the machine and read "Jukebeat" and instantly be reminded of that one song...

Oh wait, it's a local song here in Tampa called Keep Jukin', so like i said before, people see the machine, they think of this song, *facepalms* ensue -_-.

On-topic: I seriously think they should not keep this a "secret" test location. If UBeat didn't go as well as they thought they did, make more test locations! And make them more public! >_>.

I agree with the secrecy. As much as we'd all love to go and play it and have a community event, that's not the point of these location tests, which is to test interest in the general public. If the game is released, it's going to have to survive on casual appeal, since the community isn't going to tour around the continent playing it at every location.

That being said, I really hope the secret test went well; clearly no one from the community stumbled upon it, so it would have been completely subjected to casual appeal.

I can understand it in GH due to songs being 3:00+, but these are 1:30 songs.

i'm a bit cornfused..

two pictures showed up on 2ch of at game at the GTI show called Magic Box which is identical in every way to jubeat. I originally thought this was a company just ripping off the series, but now with this announcement of a release in China i'm starting to wonder if this is just a distributor or something..

I doubt it, the link in purotora.com shows a video of the actual jubeat ripples in China has the Konami logo and everything.

The pics you provided looks like an outright rip off to me.
