we haven't seen a legitimate NA/EU DDR release since X2
Regardless of the state in NA, the X2 release backfiring upon themselves in Europe was of their own making. A cab with severely cut corners for £10,000* is NOT going to sell when working EuroMixes are on sale for £1,500.
* Some part of my brain thinks they tried to sell it for £20k, but that might have just been the US price in dollars. Anyone?
It was about $11,000 iirc for NA.
*insert crap bemani joke here*

"Gimme a mothaf----n' break!"
Thanks to my new iPod, I'm able to play jubeat and REFLEC BEAT finally. I know the spacing of everything is not arcade-accurate, but I actually picked up the gameplay a lot quicker than I thought I could. (I've seen plenty of gameplay videos before hand and thought these two games were hella confusing.)

REFLEC BEAT is probably the fastest music game I've ever mastered, and that's only because I've played other music games for years. In turn, RB quickly became my favorite BEMANI game.

I'm thinking that's why I was able to pick up on them quickly as well. I've been playing rhythm simulation games for 18 years now, plus I have experience in playing an instrument, singing, and dancing (all which require a keen sense of rhythm) so it usually doesn't take me long to catch on to the gameplay. As far as truly mastering them, though? Yeah...no lol. With the couple song packs I got on REFLEC BEAT, I've passed most of the HARD charts, but I know that's only because of the playing field being significantly scaled down on the iPod screen. I'm sure if I tried most of them on the actual cabinet, I would probably fail. The same goes for jubeat. But ultimately, my limit so far are MEDIUM and ADVANCED charts on both games.

it's a toss up between RB and jubeat for me. it's probably jubeat, but that might change once i play a real cabinet

I honestly find Jubeat AC 20x more fun than the iOS counterpart, you may have to move your hands a bit more but having buttons to press feels a lot better.

I'm pretty sure I'll find the arcade cabinet of jubeat much better to play on than my iPod. I know the extra space is MUCH more helpful than playing on that small screen. I think even if I had an iPad and played it on that, it would probably be better, since the screen is bigger and closer to the cabinet size.

Just started reflec today and I'm struggling with 7s-8s. I wish they wouldn't include your opponent's objects, it's so confusing.

you can change the brightness of opponent's objects to make them near-invisible. after you choose a song, if you swipe to the left of the difficulty selection, you'll see a screen where you can change which side you're on. in the bottom left, there's a button that looks like a slider. tap that, and it'll let you turn opponent brightness almost all the way down.

Turn down the brightness of the opponent's notes, then.
