"BBCode Not Allowed" |
Here's the thing about games like FNAF:
They are all well-made games, no doubt. However, when these games become popular to the point where it's amassed to almost the entire internet, you'll see tidbits of the game anywhere you look, which then causes people to grow sick of it. Then, when sequels or "cash-ins" are mentioned and announced, people moan and groan about it. Let's be honest though, if you were making an unexpected fortune from a game concept you thought wouldn't do too well, you would probably milk it out, too. Don't lie.
All respects to Scott Cawthon for giving us an original and unique concept to the horror gaming genre.

The bad thing about this is that so much is said about the game on YouTube or on news websites, that you know pretty much all about it before you even play it, so why even play it? Everyone says the best thing about it is the story (which you have to go to a fucking wiki to find out) so what's the point of playing the games?

You play it so you can immerse yourself in the game more directly, plus get semi-spooped in the process. Unless of course, an unexpected jumpscare happens and you get super spooped.

I honestly thought the 3rd FNAF was the final one. I hate horror in general so like the other 3 I'll pass.

I'm pissed off about FNAF4 purely from an artistic point of view.
Like, 3 perfectly ended the story. What more could we talk about? We've already gone years before and years after the events of the first game. Where else could we go?
AND we're getting a movie based about this fucking puppet troupe too.
Needless to say, I'll still check it out when it comes out. But I won't be happy about it.

Here's FNAF, tl;dr version:
- Family diner with animatronic bear is a thing
- Kid looking from out window gets killed by a guy
- Diner expands to a restaurant establishment with three more animatronics
- Same guy kills five more kids
- Restaurant faces sanitation charges, man gets convicted of murder
- Restaurant expands size by nearly triple, new and technologically innovative animatronics take place of stinky and beaten up ones
- Spirit of first victim possesses a marionette, marionette helps possess the old animatronics, with one taking place as a hallucinate bear
- Murderer tampers with new animatronics' systems, now all animatronics are going haywire
- Employee loses frontal lobe due to an animatronic's mouth snapping shut in employee's head
- New restaurant shuts down, new animatronics scrapped, much smaller establishment opens with the old stinky animatronics refurbished and freshened
- Spirits still linger in animatronics, still spooks adults at night
- Hybrid animatronic/wearable suits become a thing
- Murderer violently disassembles animatronics
- Spirits of children surround murderer and creep the living shit out of him
- Murderer slips into hybrid suit to protect himself, gets crushed by suit's parts, bleeds out, stays there for at least thirty years, children's spirits are at peace
- Random crew decides to make attraction based on the unsolved mysteries of the restaurant establishment
- Crew finds old relics and decorate the attraction, also find the animatronic zombie
- Attraction burns to the ground, murderer is blazed, unknown if alive or dead
That's pretty much it.

My only issue is it feels like they are popping out one after another. Feels like it's just too much too fast and there's not enough time for the sequels to have build up and have more hype behind them.
As for the movie, I'm not sure how you can make a full feature length film off the idea but if Hollywood can make a movie based on Battleship and Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots then they could find away.

Legit thought: assuming that in Japan, Bemani is basically the only Konami thing that isn't a child's card game with its head currently above water, is it viable for Bemani to just go it alone as a standalone company?

Personally? I never laid an attempt to try to play ANY of the FNAF games. I didn't want to be worried I was going to have jump scare nightmares like an obscure friend I have.
But as time grew on, I realized that maybe the franchise might not be that good either way. It's evolving too fast. We have three games in less than a YEAR.
Like my project (http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewthread.php?threadid=6218&page=1), I feel like to have 100% genuine hype every time a new game/version/pack/etc. is released, you need some waiting time. Of course, we don't want to end up not even doing it at all unlike a certain YouTube channel called jacknjellify.
Hopefully they'll end it for real after 4 and there won't be FNAF 5 (or 6, or 7, or 12, or 40...).

I've seen Markiplier play all the games, so I'm looking forward to seeing him play the next one(s). I don't have a proper system to play them myself, probably the main reason I haven't played any of the FNAF games. I think they look cool and are a unique type of game, so yeah, I hope Scott has more in store.

I've never played FNAF but when it was first released and popular I wanted to give it a try but I never got around to it. I find it a bit over the top that they've made more than 3 games in a short period and that they're making a film, especially for a game that relies on jump scares.

Anyone who cyber-bullies anyone like transgenders (and while off the topic people with mental disabilities), are pieces of shit. Especially if it's a developer who did the GameCube/Wii emulator.
