I just played Pump It Up for the first time.
After trying really, really hard to like that game for almost 15 minutes, I still hated it.

It's been a long time since I've played Pump It Up. If it had better music, I probably would try to play it more.

Sifting through Bandcamp and I came across this little album:
Some of the most relaxing and atmospheric guitar work you'll be hearing. I recommend you all check it out.

I feel like this as well. I've always thought that PIU had boring music. But I'm sure some PIU fans think DDR's music is boring as well.Post #22265 · Posted at 2014-07-20 12:13:41am 9.7 years ago

my only problem with PIU is the fact that almost every single chart is really forgettable

Granted, I haven't played every single mix. I've played EXCEED, EXCEED 2, and FIESTA. But the only songs on those mixes that I legitimately like are Soca Make Yuh Ram Ram, Naissance, Will-O-The-Wisp, Blazing, Le code de bonne conduite, and Forward.

The first time I played Pump It Up when I was young was an embarassing experience for me. The very first song I played was a very Hard chart (I think it was an NX cab) and I did NOTHING. And my parents were watching me and telling me "Oh, it's just like Dance Revo" (That's how we called DDR before and to this day lol). Such pretty little liars.

My thing is that the crossovers are too physically draining on hard charts, and also diagonal arrows were longer than they were wide, making it confusing to hit arrows a lot of the time.

I had the home version for Xbox a while back and I thought it was pretty good. Ah, it'd be nice to play on a good machine nearby...

You...you had a console version of PIU? Do you have any idea how hard it is to find those things in a GameStop? (Or maybe even at all?)
I've only ever saw one only once at the GameStop near Sportime USA (it was for PS2 though...I think). I regret not buying it.

I got in like late 2007/early 2008 when GameStop was just trying to get rid of them. I still have the game itself, the pad just got lost somehow so there isn't much point :p

So I went to a nice arcade the other night and played a whole lot of DDR X2. It was definitely fun to play DDR again and on a newer arcade mix as well. My stamina was awful though, so I stuck mostly to 10's and 11's. On the flipside, my timing is much better in arcade so there was that. Squeezed in a few rounds of doubles too which got a few people looking (despite my performance being nowhere near stellar). Aside from that, it was a great time. Went with a friend that I haven't see in a while, so that was also really nice.
On a similar note, it would be nice to get into DDR again. One thing that has deterred me a little is the lack of a home setup that offers a more arcade feel to it. It's that which has always made me wonder why the CS games just didn't use the AC window (beyond obvious demographic reasons of course). In some sense it's a touch trickier than assembling a IIDX setup with an acceptable arcade feel.

To me, it's painful and creepy to read this parents' guide for Madoka Rebellion on IMDb..

... Oh.
I've only seen the Madoka Magica anime series. (not any of the movies) I really enjoyed it but would I show it to children? Hell no.

Pretty sure Pump mode only works on PS2, though. I might still give it a try.

I have one I bought from DDRGame for the PS3 that would probably work.
