Say Goodbye to the Xbox at Gamestop...and it's games...and accessories.

Rumor: Gamestop not accepting Xbox consoles, games, and accessories after February 9th, 2009.

...good run maybe? Idk, haven't played much of the Xbox, but man i might get a good price for this and maybe even Ultramix if i can find some at a pawn shop =)

So what is your take on this?

P.S. you know what else would suck? Having to see the PS2 being taken out just like this...=(

Oh jeez, from the title, I thought you meant ALL Xbox products, including stuff for the 360. Whew...

I never used the original XBox a whole lot. Other than the Ultramixes, the Titty Fighter Dead or Alive series, and occasional rounds of Halo, my XBox didn't see a whole lot of mileage.

Don't worry about PS2. It's still selling so they wouldn't take it out

The term "Xbox" doesnt mean "Xbox 360"

Of course, the Xbox was pretty much fucked over the day the 360 came out.

The reason they're taking XBox off is probably because the XBox360 is such a perfect alternate that no one really uses XBoxes anymore. The PS3 has yet to prove itself as a worthy alternate to the PS2 so I'm not really worried.

The one thing that REALLY pisses me off is the lack of 100% backwards compatibility on the 360.

PS3's doing pretty well these days so I dunno.

But it's pretty expensive here, too. 80-gig models go for at least 86,000 php (that's a lot of money).
The xbox controls are too foreign for me, perhaps which is why I prefer the PS3.

Yeah it is pretty expensive still but I do prefer it over the 360 partly for the reason you stated. Also, the 360 controller (although, a huge improvement from the original Xbox controller) is still bulky and not at all comfortable for my small hands to play on. Seriously, they're tiny like a girl's.

I think the reason for removing the xbox games from the stores now is since they had just recently shutdown Halo 2'2 Online that no one is going to want to play xbox games anymore and really...don't need to.

Yes, especially when this news is four years old.
