"BEEJAY REVEL A" |
I'm thinking of asking for DDR Hottest Part 2 for Christmas but I am not sure about it. The first one was ok and then I got bored of it so it's making me skeptical. So I need to know if it's worth asking for. I have some questions and I would greatly appreciate it if someone could answer these. Thanks!
So what I want to know is:
Is it worth the money?
What are the pros and cons of Hottest Party 2?
How difficult is it to fully unlock the songlist?
What would you rate it out of 10?
Thank you

It's trivial to unlock the full songlist.
I'd say it's not worth the money.
Cons:
1. Vivid arrows.
2. Bright backgrounds, which cannot be turned off. (And no, you can't choose the stage in arena mode, which is where I spent the most time)
3. Announcer in menus, which cannot be turned off.
4. Stepjump based charts (at least with hands off)
5. Double step based charts (again, with hands off)
6. No doubles.
7. No edit mode.
Pros:
Someone else can do this part.
If you're not going to take the time to learn to play with the hand motions, just download the simfiles and play those. That way you won't be irritated when you realize how crap they are.

Is it worth the money? For the licenses, NO, for the KOs, if you can get used to the step charts, very much so. The game is good, but not worth the $70 bundle, it would be great if it came out game only. (though I am selling the game only for $30 if you're interested)
