Extra Stage songs

What songs do you use to get extra stage? The only thing I can AA on a consistent basis at an arcade is Kind Lady so I always have to play that to get ES; though sometimes I get weird reactions when doing it after a couple of 10s.

I play any song that I'm confident to get a AA on. Sometimes favourite songs such as Look To The Sky, Kind Lady, Funk Boogie, DROP THE BOMB etc...

I love it when I see posers rape the bars and play "PARANOiA survivor MAX", "MAX 300 (Super Max Me Mix)", then "Peace(^^)v".

Actually, after doing PSM and SMMM, I'd prefer to do Peace(^^)v, as I'd be pretty hammered.

Anway, I don't play DDR at the arcade, becuase the backgrounds and noteskins on the Extreme machines make me feel like I'm playing one of those missions that hides random arrows.

I almost always choose random, especially since I always play SN2 at the moment.

On Extreme though, I don't treat the last stage as special. I play whatever I would have played anyway. Being 1.5 reverse, the extra stage is pretty useless and I usually just play LOM anyway.

The decision to remove mods for the extra stages in SN2 was correct.

It seems strange to be able to play 10s but not AA a significant portion of the game, like at most of the 6s and 7s, probably a large number of 8s.

For ES songs, I go with my usual favorite songs if I really want to get one(Love Shine, Himawari, True(Trance Sunrise Version), Mind Parasite, AA, Burnin' the Floor, and the list goes on for long), but usually I try going for harder ones just for the challenge, even once a friend wanted me to get him an ES and chose HVAM for me... After telling him he was crazy, I played the song at my best and AA it with a score around 95 063 *** it was only the 2nd time I could AA it, man I was proud!

On SuperNOVA1 ARC, usually I always choose Golden Sky or Happy Wedding on (BTW, my record for Happy Wedding so far 99% while for Golden Sky around 98%).

Try Golden Sky or Happy Wedding. It's easy to get AA even you turn OFF Freeze arrow.

Happy Wedding is like 1000x harder than Golden Sky.

Since I only play DDR SN2 at the arcade and still can't AA Unreal and NGO, I always choose Random. I'm waiting for Trip Machine Phoenix to be unlocked for the final stage because I'm pretty sure I can AA it without batteries as lives.

The only songs I can AA on SN1 on foot are un deux trois and A Stupid Barber. Not even Golden Sky for some reason I've never played them on final stage so...

Honey Punch is my Final Stage song. It's an easy 7 to get. Sometimes I try to get lucky and go for a 9. Acheived it with No.13 once...

I think TMP is harder than unreal personally, but that is from a 1x perspective.


Happy Wedding has strange timings, not nearly as intuitive as Golden Sky. 99% on it is really good, so you should be proud. I've known people with 230 AAAs on extreme who hadn't AAAed Happy Wedding normal steps.

On Extreme, I'd suggest doing Let's Groove or Sexy Planet Oni for an easy ES. As for Supernova, The Shining Polaris is another easy one (and a really good song).

I used to go for ES all of the time on my locked Extreme so I could play LOM. Now I'm working on AA'ing the rest of the 8-footers and clearing the rest of the 10's, so sometimes I'll play a 10 or high 9 for final stage instead. Also my current machine has the unlocks, so LOM's in standard play and there's less incentive for ES. If I want ES then I'll do something like My Summer Love, Super Star, Put Your Faith In Me, true ~Trance Sunrise mix~, We Will Rock You (3x Boost!), Drop the Bomb SySF Mix, Rhythm & Police... pretty much whatever strikes me at the time.

Doubles though, that's another story. Golden Sky's the only one I've gotten on SN, and Kind Lady/Drop the Bomb/Happy Wedding/Miracle Moon are the only ones I've gotten on EX. At this point I'm still filling out my scores (and trying to clear Candy*, Exotic Ethnic, Highs Off U and Max 300 for a Recall challenge). If I wanted ES, I'd probably pick Kind Lady or try my hand at Butterfly again.

...It seems like the only songs i can achieve to get to Extra Stage is Drop The Bomb (System SF Mix) and A...my arcades mats suck, or idk -_-...

Geez, A is not an easy song to AA with those step-jumps. You shouldn't have any problem with 1998.

And really, a lot of fixing the pads is finding out what's wrong and being the one to report it. (Well unless you're a kid, then it helps more to get older players to agree that the pads need fixing so they can back you up.) At least in the small town where I used to play, it was surprising how infrequently other people reported in problems. I remember when the air hockey table was out for a week because nobody told the arcade owner (who works out-of-state and comes in every other week or so). I was reporting in some pad errors and mentioned the table in passing, and he showed up the next day to fix them.
