Looking at your posts, I can't see why someone would do that. Although it is advisable to avoid talking about negative ratings as in many cases it tends to snowball.

Don't worry, I had my own tough shares with undesired negative feedback. Through that ordeal, I learned enough do's and don'ts of forum etiquette.

I feel that user ratings should have a log listing which exact posts earned/lost posts, so that you can learn from said posts what and what not to do. It's not so nice to blindy get low ratings and just be left to wonder what you did wrong without something to analyze.

but you can rate people from their profiles though -- it's not tied to a post or anything.

Pretty much. It's not like the points matter, but it's pretty frustrating to actually contribute to a thread and then find that you've lost a point.

Please help me! I had 70.3 points, and just today, my rating dropped all the way to 48.1. What happened?! How can a user lose over 25 points in one day?! What if spambots deducted points from my rating?!
Can someone please explain? I'm just a bit confused, that's all.
I know ratings don't really matter all that much, I just want a teeny bit of input on this situation. It just doesn't seem right.
