Nothing implemented can be perfect...

Good example- Hooky. Why is he on the border of the negatives? He seems like a really nice guy and my +5 is really the only thing keeping him alive, I think.

Because occasionally he does really stupid things. Like getting the zamba thread locked by posting poop in response to everything (which was eventually done by everyone else)

Stupid or not, there's no reason to inanely spam. Surely you could just drop me or Alan a PM to say "look, this is getting shit, lock it, thanks."

Anyway, I'd tell you why hooky is on the border of the negatives but I'm not sure I buy into the whole idea of singling out people on the forums.

I feel scared, worrying about my future and popularity for this site. My highest user rating I ever had (in the past month) was -71.9, but my forum score became worse over time. You guys think that better posts mean bigger number? Is it the following:

1. Should I troll the forums to lower the "number"?

2. Is there a user ratings problem?

I just wish the User Ratings disappear when the next Z-I-v style happens and instead have a smarter, kyu/dan system.

Or don't post at all in a sense, keeping quiet and making sure what you want to say isn't something that can't easily be targeted is a good note to have, granted almost anything can be taken to be spit back towards you in the internet...

Your posts have been a bit..."out of place" to be blunt, you're asking questions that really have almost no purpose to either the site or anything in particular, it's more so "ME ME ME ME ME", as your latest thread shows.

Yes, Bemanistyle's activity has gone down, and it's obvious that ZIv is probably the only place that still keeps the forums alive after this utter drought of music rhythm games Stateside and across the pond, and this is the reason why most of us are pretty much nailing you to the highest point of humility because we've seen it happen in another forum, asking "why is nobody posting to MY threads in this other forum" is like saying "How come I'm the only guy drinking Fanta at a Juggalo party?" It's two separate things you're trying to combine but it somehow ultimately ends up being about you.

While trying not to be as mean as some people here (which is imminent), really review the things you are about to post and make sure they put VALUE to a thread/forum. If you think it may be a bad idea and you have a gut feeling it's a bad idea then DON'T post it.

@Gabe: I'm confused here. You are trying to become more popular, and yet you go out and say that you are trying to do that, which will not help your cause, let me assure you! You show a basic misunderstanding of the user rating system: negative numbers mean that you are unpopular, or perhaps infamous, among the other members of the ZiV community. It's pretty obvious that you feel somehow you can spout off some absurdly calculated statement modeled on "good posts" and suddenly everyone will love you for it and you'll be the king of Zenius-i-Vanisher. That hasn't been working. You've already been banned/ostracized at multiple forums, and the problems that caused those bans to happen are still evident in your current posts.

EDIT: Also, what's so great about being the king of Zenius-i-Vanisher in the first place? It's just a forum.

As ironic as this sounds, we're pretty much doing the exact thing Gabe wanted to accomplish in the first place.

2. There's a glitch that doubles everyone's rating if 2 (or more?) people rate someone at the same time.

And I want to confess I did that once with the Pump it Up thread. It shouldn't be about one's self, but about expressing your ideas that benefits one's self AND everyone else.

And user rating isn't that important. It won't get me money and it won't get me hot lusty sex.

Someone should tell Gabe that this is how you become a liked person on ZIV. Welcome, SM MaxX, I appreciate your sense of humor.

Edit- you're from Phoenix and play at CnC? Do I know you? I'm the guy with the care bear tattoo on his forearm, I haven't been to CnC in like a year though.
