I tired playing it once. I was so ecstatic when I passed the first stage that I spent the second one freestyling like a little kid bashing piano keys. I made beautiful music.

Keyboardmania is ace! Hard as nails, but fun nonetheless. I play the CS version (KBM 2+3), though have played it three of four times in the arcade (in Akihabara).
One day I will be able to play doubles mode on this... one day.
It also has one of my favourite Bemani songs on there: 緑の風 (Midori no Kaze). And it has a wannabe Bon Jovi song that I first saw on Drummania Masterpiece Gold... Vitalize :p I sang the lyrics to "You give love a bad name" over the top of this when playing, and it kinda worked.

I actually really wanted to play this but my UX-16 adapter isn't recognized by it for some reason, and it's nearly impossible to get a good controller at a decent price (less than 100$)...

11.4 months later, I actually played this at 8otB. Despite being able to pass 10s on DDR, 32s on Popn, and 11s on IIDX, I can't get the finger placement down on this for the life of me. And that was on Light (13key?) Light+ uses the full [one side] keyboard.
Totally fun though. Too bad a more recent version can't be released with some Zektbach, more Osamu, and some more TAKA songs included. That'd be neat.

Yeah it's a really good game, it can be hard, but it's fun. But sadly, Konami has officially abandoned Keyboardmania. It ceased the franchise after 3rd Mix in 2001 due to it's difficulty and lack of sales. But yes, it would be nice to see it picked up again someday. Today, Legit Keyboardmania cabinets are a rarity, and I'm suprised the owner of 8otB, Chris Cotty, found one in suck great condition
The only thing is, it was damaged in transit and some of the keys were broken, but because the keyboards are provided by Yamaha, Chris detached the keyboards, sent them to Yamaha, and it's as good as new. The missing key on the 2P side will be replaced this week. So yeah, if your in the NJ area, stop by the break and play some.

I have a KOC with 1st and 2+3. (all for 90 bucks, fuck yeah)

That's the big downfall/difficult part here, is that with other Bemani, you could bs the button/pad/etc placements. But with KBM you have no room for error.
Also I have big fingers and tend to hit two keys at once :<

Well....since this got bumped....
2.3 years later, I have had a chance to play the game, thanks to 8 on the Break. I'm definitely a novice player, since I have no chance with songs like The Least 100sec.
