I don't play on arcade machines much, mainly because I don't have one that's closer than 20 minutes away (I don't have a license... yet... ) so I use socks on my squishy pads I use tennis shoes when I play at arcades though, works fine.
I heard Nike Frees are good for arcade though... That's probably the only reason I want Nike Frees.

Well playing with the bar just makes 10's easier, well the fast ones. Still never play with socks on a metal pad, i tried it again with Xepher on challange... I fell, people laughed... i got a C... So yeah, dont do it! |
True enough, you do need the right material of socks. I haven't figured out what the ideal material is, but the 78% acrylic socks I got when all my others got holes are somewhat sliippery on lexan. I can do CSFILSM in them without falling over though.

I fell playing rhythm & police trying to hit a crossover backwards, then I failed the song XD I was so close to the end too! But that was my first time playing it.

I tried playing barefoot on the arcade a while ago. now my ankles are sore. plus, i don't like the feeling of my feet rubbing against the arcade pad. i didn't try playing with just my socks on - it already was slippery just by standing on the pad with them.
the good thing with the Chucks is that it makes the "assist tick" effect while it is still relatively lighter compared to skater shoes. heavy shoes increases straining.
i'll try to get tennis shoes. will save up for it. ;)

I play with my lightest shoes possible. That's running shoes.

I just barely use my Nike shoes because it helps me to step with right timing. At least at this point, I got a grade of AA for now. I'm getting AAA score by the next time I play...

I use Adidas Sambas. Very comfortable, fits like a glove. Has a flat bottom which helps somewhat...

I use a generic £10 pair of 'smart-casual' shoes that I've had for 2 years now. They don't stop me from getting SDGs.
