"I'm honestly pissed off."
I got to 20 steps from the end of FELME months ago (haven't gotten around to retrying), which is far better than I normally do on 11s, so I'd have to agree that it doesn't belong in the 11 category.
silenttype01: Kyzentun is never harsh. He says it how it is.

GENERATION 24: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

I don't think that they're the same songs. It's more like the songs are made to suit the type of special that it is.

Right, they would all sound pretty similar to each other since their based of the same melody and such, but each would sound different to go with the special that it is.

SORT of the same idea as ScriptedArrowConnection from IIDX and how it had a different "mix" for normal, hyper, and another.

Just seemed like a cool idea.

EDIT:

Alright I just did a complete overhaul of the Extra Stage system for this fictional mix. Obviously this idea isn't just for my DDR BlackHOLE idea, but more what I'd kinda like the Extra Stage system to be like in the next game, whatever it may be called.

It's a bit complicated and I don't know if I did the best job of explaining it, but tell me what you think of it:

EXTRA STAGE / BOSS SONGS

If the player, for at least two of their songs, got an AA or higher (or simply an A or higher if the song was at least a 10), the player will earn the Extra Stage. There are no forced modifiers except that handicap mods are disabled and it is played with a heavily weighted lifebar. With the Extra Stage lifebar, GOOD causes the lifebar to drop drastically (about 60% of the total bar), while ALMOST and MISS will drain the entire lifebar and fail the player. PERFECT and MARVELOUS only increase the lifebar very slightly (about .5%). For Extra Stage, a boss song will be available to play. If the player simply met the basic requirements for Extra Stage, a single boss song will be unlocked (which I'll call the Lv. 1 Extra Stage song). If the player went further and got an AA or higher on a 10 or higher for at least two of their songs, another boss song (which I'll call the Lv. 2 Extra Stage) will be unlocked as well as the Lv. 1 Extra Stage song. There is no longer an Encore Extra Stage. After certain updates on the machine, the boss songs are downgraded, and a new boss song becomes availble for Lv. 2. Lv.1 boss songs are also downgraded to Final Stage only. Final Stage only boss songs are no longer required to be played as Final Stage to get Extra Stage. Unlike SN2, the Challenge difficulty is available for Final Stage boss songs. However, the Challenge difficulty is still locked for Extra Stage, until the machine's final update after all boss songs are fully unlocked.

Starting: Nexus (Lv. 1 Extra Stage), CHAOS mk II (Lv. 2 Extra Stage)

Update 1: Nexus (Final Stage), CHAOS mk II (Lv. 1 Extra Stage), Cocytus (Lv. 2 Extra Stage)

Update 2 : CHAOS mk II (Final Stage), Cocytus (Lv. 1 Extra Stage), Cocytus ~Judecca~ (Lv. 2 Extra Stage)

Update 3 (Only for players with at least Enjoy Level 100): Cocytus (Final Stage), Cocytus ~Judecca~ (Final Stage), Antares (Lv. 1 Extra Stage), Rigel (Lv. 1 Extra Stage), Sirius (Lv. 2 Extra Stage)

Update 4 (Antares, Rigel, and Sirius still require enjoy level 100): All boss songs except Antares, Rigel, and Sirius unlocked for regular play, Antares, Rigel, and Sirius available for Final Stage only. Challenge difficulty becomes available for Extra Stage.

"DINGDONG♥HEARTS"
Are you sure that this is a fan mix and that you're not an undercover Bemani employee?;)

This is a very well-thought-out idea and it should deserve some attention from Konami. I have one question though:

No 250BPM (Jondi&Spesh Remix)?

>_>

<_<

If you sent me $100 I may be willing to divulge the name of 2MB's next song

250BPM would be cool, but Konami seems to barely ever bring stuff to the acrade from X-box versions. Seems like its mostly PS2 stuff. Plus I thought I had enough new from CS songs.

Awful song, IMO. They did improve it, but that's expected from them. Smile

"MAGGLE"
Well, I've also started imagining the next DDR title, the only difference is that it's not a major DDR mix (think DDR Festival). And that the title is "Dancing Stage Trance Mix" (yep, japanese name). Containing trance songs from dancemania like ghosts, so deep and from bemani like true... (trance sunrise mix), tears etc. But, I'm too lazy writing a fictitious songlist and all the features it'll have.

Anyway, there's still the outer space resemblance from supernova (not that I'm complaining). I'm also trying to imagine just how will all these songs sound like if they ever exist.

Thank you so much, Lord Toon!

"jubeat knit one, purl two"
Do you expect to write a decent variety of stepcharts for such a mix? Not only would it be all the same genre, it would be all similar step patterns.

That could work as a category in a larger game, but not as a game itself.

"Dancing Stage Trance Mix"

Isn't that the european name?

Some Japanese DDR games were released under the Dancing Stage name, namely:

Dancing Stage feat. Dreams Come True
Dancing Stage feat. True Kiss Destination
Dancing Stage Disney's Rave (DDR Disney Mix in the US)

This is my idea for the next AC release of DDR after SN2. I posted the prototype of this list about two months ago in the "DDR SN3 Idea" thread, but I've improved it a LOT since then, and I think that it's for the most part finished. Lol just I don't look like a person who obsesses over non-existant DDR games, I did NOT type this entire beast up all at once, but I actually started it way back in September or so and just added little by little to it every few days. I might still add to it if stuff comes to me (what can I say? I like to write down ideas lol). As one person humorously called it, yes, this is basically my christmas list to konami lmao.

Anyway, lemme know what you think of it. Or what you think I should add if you like it. Tongue

...Or feel free to yell at me for spamming this forum with garbage. Laughing Out Loud

Dance Dance Revolution BlackHOLE

The game would have an overal indigo and black interface. The songwheel screen has a abstract swirling blackhole in the background. The difficulty rating has been extended to include 11 and 12 difficulty. As a result, the game contains many more 10's than previous mixes, now has several 11's and even a few 12's. Therefore it has by far the highest overall difficulty of any DDR mix so far, and sets the way for DDR being harder in the future. It also fixes the inflated 10 problem that DDR's been having lately.

Old 10's that have been rerated to higher levels

11:
PARANOiA Survivor MAX (Expert)
NGO (Challenge)
MAX 300 (Super Max Me Mix) (Challenge)
Fascination ~eternal love mix~ (Expert)

MAX. (period) (Expert)

12:
PARANOiA Survivor MAX (Challenge)
Healing-D-Vision (Challenge)

The following are some of the more noteable songs in the default songlist, though the game itself would obviously include many MANY more. Do you expect to write a decent variety of stepcharts for such a mix? Not only would it be all the same genre, it would be all similar step patterns.

That could work as a category in a larger game, but not as a game itself.

I was thinking that they should just have the stepcharts the way it is when they were included in a DDR mix. And the genre is somewhat misleading since I've included techno songs.

We could only wish for something like that. Konami should drop the GFDM crossovers even for just one mix. We've all seen the demo of DDRX, rock songs wouldn't fit in that kind of interface (but there are exceptions like Linkin' Park, Evanescence, etc.).

And DDRMAX was the only thing that came close to my idea of an imaginary trance mix.

I could see such songs fitting in on such an interface (just don't combine Bring Me to Life with the 10th anniversary cake Dead), but we haven't seen enough of the game to make a statement like that, anyway.

Final Update : Most boss songs unlocked for normal play, Antares, Rigel & Sirius still FS only and still require Enjoy Level 100+, Challenge difficulty now playable on Extra Stage.

I purposely made it so that some of the boss songs are only playble in a challenge course for a while before being unlocked. This is sort of to recreated the suspense people (or at least I) felt when they first saw the boss songs only available in courses that were leaked on the SN2 test location.

I also changed the Groove Radar Specials so that they each have an Expert and a Challenge chart, the Expert being unlocked when that category reaches 100, the Challenge being unlocked when it reaches 200.

I should probably consider sending this to konami lmao , all this work should probably go somewhere.

Edit: Full list of the difficulty names (that i would have in this mix but it could also be the list if they were to bring back the names)

Level 1 : Simple
Level 2 : Moderate
Level 3 : Ordinary
Level 4 : Superior
Level 5 : Marvelous
Level 6 : Genuine
Level 7 : Paramount
Level 8 : Exorbitant
Level 9 : Catastrophic
Level 10 : Apocalyptic
Level 11 : Ludicrous
Level 12 : Transcendent

Is part of your plan to have the US unlocks only available at one arcade, and only start when the Japan unlocks are completely finished? ;)

Oh, most definately! Afterall, we americans will never know what the e amuse players are getting, since regions have no idea what is being unlocked in other regions. Tongue

Naw, the game would have unlock codes, and they would be realesed much more frequently than SN2 and would keep the non e amuse players up to date with the e amuse ones.

Though now that you mention it, a game like this that relies heavily on e amuse for unlocks(especially the ones unlocked through Enjoy Levels) would kinda screw players over that don't have it.

Yeah, I think the USB drive saving ITG has is even better than e-amuse. For me, it makes the difference between going to the Extreme machine that's 3 blocks away, and the ITG2 R21 machine that's ~120 blocks away.

Apparently. This plan was concocted on a shoestring budget. Tongue
