What happened to BEST MEMBER thread?

I thought it was a stupid concept, but deleting your own thread right after you're eliminated doesn't make it any better.

I made the eliminating vote, but didn't expect that. Oh well. I just didn't want to vote for AceJay (awesome donation), and ppp is just too cool with his ability to read Japanese (dangit, I'm stuck on the SMW hack "VIPマリオ2" and can't figure out what to do because the hints are in Japanese ).

And I saw what would happen from the start, but my warnings were not heeded. You simply cannot have a game that ranks users in a popularity contest, or someone will take it seriously. If it wasn't LBS, it still would have been someone else.

Yeah, but I would hope that whatever hypothetical "someone else" who would have made the thread would have also kept the thread going and not puss out just because he lost.

I was mentioning some other random person who could have been anyone who DIDN'T start the thread, but fussed about being eliminated. Or someone having their rating drop by 40+ if they eliminate a popular member.

I agree that it would have been interesting to see the outcome, but everyone who got eliminated would been butthurt to some degree, whether outspoken or not; knowing that someone else is more popular than you is aggravating, especially when such information is shown to the public. I'm just saying it's best to avoid these topics.

On the other hand, the deletion of such a thread because OP got eliminated is entirely another matter, of OP's integrity.

My step dad calling me for my dinner and i sorta turned round and didn't look at the screen and accidentally clicked the wrong button which is the delete thread button. I was like ''Oh my god'' and then that is what happened.

I was hoping people would follow my example in that thread, and just vote randomly, blatantly post off topic, and in general ignore the actual intent of the thread. I actually enjoyed the thread for this reason, especially when Pandemonium_X (or was it someone else? Can't remember right) quoted my line, "Hijacking and off topic posting in a thread that can only end in flames is a service to the community.", and said, "Quoted for truth.".
