Can you play DDR [Arcade] without sounds on it? Me, definitely; however, accuracy of steps are worse than with sounds on it. I have experienced it already. How about you, players?

Some of the VIP card missions in SN1 required you to play songs without music (meaning that they didn't play period, all you had was the annoying announcer)
The most hardest of the no music missions would have to be getting a FC on Fascination MaxX on with the 0.25 speed mod. I failed on the first step.
I can play somewhat without music. I just say "tap, tap, tap" every time I step on an arrow to get the beat.

I played Let The Beat Hit Em at (Clearwater FL) Beach Gameland's SN1, and the top speakers shut off for no reason during the song. They started back up again at the end. I still AA'd it and got ES, so yeah I can probably do moderately well without sound.

I can play without music, but I need speed mods/note. Need to see the beats clearly. It's quite hard to play songs like ANGELUS without music -.-

"I'm honestly pissed off." |
Well, my first time attempting "Do You Love Me" (ITG 10), I was in the options menu, when suddenly, I realized I wasn't hearing the preview music anymore. So I took off my (wireless) headphones, and sure enough, the battery light was blinking. So I handed them to my brother and went on to play the song with no sound. Ended up passing with a C.
Last week I did PA Theme with no sound because MC Frontalot is so incredibly terrible. Got a AA.
So, playing without sound is possible. It's harder, certainly, and it helps to know the song, but if you're capable of performing the steps with music, you can probably do them without music.
Stealth + Silent though, would be near impossible. At least I think so.

I need the music to play, I can barely hear my SN machine when I play it. But unless you memorized the song inside your head & know the beats & stuff, you'll be fine

I'm kinda surprised at some of the responses. I played in an ITG tournament on Saturday, and due to the fact that practically every machine in the arcade was in use, we could *barely* hear the music while standing on the pads dancing. People were still getting 95+% practically every round (except me, couldn't get over 90 to save my life). So I figured it was normal to be able to play mostly without sound.

I once played NAOKI standard on a machine with busted speakers. FC'd the course. Two kids were watching with their mouths hanging open.

What? Playing DDR without sounds? That seems to be so weird too. I always fail whenever I play beacuse of that damn thing. I never ever wanted to play DDR on the earlier versions like in the case of DDR 2nd Mix in Philippines.
