I'm crunc, which is short for "crunchewy" which was a goofy advertising slogan that was used for a brand of dog food years ago, to imply that the dog food was both crunchy *and* chewy. Why is that my username? Maybe just sillyness. Maybe some deeper meaning. Why did I shorten it to "crunc"? I believe I first did that when at some website I forget my password and couldn't get a new one, so I made a new username and just truncated crunchewy to crunc. I decided I liked it, so there you go.
I'm in Maryland, USA. I'm 41 as of several days ago. I'm a white male who's a bit overweight. I started playing DDR two Christmases ago, as a result of having given my now 5 and 7 year old boys the game Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix for that holiday. I loved it much more than them and became completely hooked. I ended up buying a PS2 (for DDR) and eventually all the US DDR releases, In The Groove and most recently DDR Supernova 2 JP. Even more recently I got a (used) copy of Beatmania US bundle in great condition and have been trying to not suck royally at it, trying to decide if I want to invest in a Japanese version of the game. At the moment I'm not playing any DDR due to needing to nurse a sprained ankle back to health (sprained from a fall on the stairs while running down them, something we tell our kids not to do all the time... sigh.) When my foot is working properly I can manage most 7s and a handful of 8s (DDR, not Beatmania!)
EDIT: Oh, I pretty much never play the arcade machines. That's for a combination of my age (I don't see too many 40 year olds playing at the arcade), tendency to become incredibly nervous playing DDR in front of others, and due to the arcade pads being the exact opposite of my Ignition 3.0 pads, which completely trips me up.

You must not be truely hooked, else you'd be playing on the sprained ankle. ;)
Yeah, you'd get weird looks playing at an arcade. DDR actually makes me *less* nervous about being around other people, oddly. It's cheaper to play at home anyway. I only go to the arcade to meet other players.

Wow, not many people who play DDR well AND are at least 35 years of age. Welcome. I used to go to Maryland a lot, visiting relatives and stuff. What part of Maryland are you from?

HI! I'm Anthony, also known as Silent:dusK or MrUnibrow. I've been visiting this site for simfiles and recent news on DDR, so I decided to make an account!

Hai thar everyone. I'm Redone Stealth, or as some people refer to me, Red. I started playing DDR a few years back, and then found Stepmania. I have played beatmania on one account, but I failed miserably. Oddly enough, I've played DDR longer than any other music game, but find myself better at Guitar Hero and Rock Band. =\ I can't get past in DDR...
Anyways, I like to listen to rock music in general, as well as electronic music. I also listen to j-pop every once in a while. I also sometimes do song mash-ups, my most recent one consisting of Nine Inch Nails, Linkin Park, and Atreyu.
I'm making a few simfiles at the moment, mainly remixes of songs I like. There are some I've gotten to making the banners and BGs to, but never worked on.
tl;dr version:

Hi guys! I'm Kazz.
I joined a few months back, but it's time I started joining in! I'm 21 and from London. I'm generally a DDR and Para Para player but I have (very slowly) been getting to grips with IIDX and Pop'n. Alan has had the pleasure(?) of helping me to learn and being generally entertained by the constant choir of "BOOOOOOO!!"s after each round in IIDX - hence the sig!
I look forward to seeing you guys around and getting to know you all a little better.

Wow! I JUST found the introduction thread. I was looking for this. There are WAY too many subsections on this forum.
Anyway, I'm from California. I've been playing DDR since 3rd Mix. I currently play every day to keep myself in shape and my neighbors extra happy.
Stepmania is a godsend for losing weight.
I also love Pop'n Music and other music games, but just don't have the time to play it that much any more. So I am just focusing on DDR.
Anyway, it's good to meet you all.

Hello all
I'm Waine and hail from the East of London. I have retaken a huge interest in DDR recently after a 3 year break and my scores are finally worth talking about
I'm 23 and have been playing since EM1 was pretty much first released. Hopefully I'll bump into some of you at the troc at some point in the not too distant

Hi.
I'm from Surrey, England, have been playing SM for just about 2 years, playing on a DS EM1 machine for the first time in March 2008. Soon after I bought myself a hard foam dance pad from eBay. A few days ago I received my TX2000 imitation (the company that sold it called it a '8 way Lexan max').
I can pass a few 10s at the moment.
I currently play using OpenITG, SM4 and MGD3.
It's a pleasure meeting you all.

Hello everyone,
I'm also around for some time (since beginning of this site - but never really went here) but joined only after hearing few people speak about ZIV vs DDRUK and the score trackers. This got me interested more to find out what's new and what not.
To those who don't know me yet...I'm known as S'Tsung, I'm from the Czech Republic (I know my profile says Netherlands now...) and I'm 22. I live in the capital which is quite ok for foreigners to live here. Elsewhere I'm considered as a slanted eye whatever Asian comes to the people's minds and not really welcome (so I stick to this big city).
I started playing DDR 4 years ago and finally got to the level where I can possibly AAA stuff on DDR arcade machines, I got AAA on Kind Lady and Stay and more will probably follow. All I need is just to go to play on arcade you know! (I get AAAs on CS versions fine so...now it's AC time)
I play also other bemani, especially Beatmania IIDX now. But also PNM, PPP (but I do more Para Para dancing than playing the actual game), DM (I just started and I suck, but I cleared Mr. Machine 62 o_O today). and I think I can say that I'm the worst Dance Maniax player ever ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XffI4a2OLfM )
um I also play all the other music games that I encounter and I fell in love with PIU.
that's about it?^_~

Ooh, I know you! You gave me some good advice in that DDR:UK thread. Thankies!
