I really don't get what the big deal about online play is in a music and rhythm game. Part of the fun of DDR is playing it together in Versus so you can compete and have fun with another person in the room. Although, I'm not much of an online player so I'm a bit biased.
I still have yet to play Hottest Party but the song covers do sound lovely. I hope that HP2 will stay close to the original in this trend but maybe expand the songlist a bit and fix that Edit Mode.

The idea would be if you don't have anyone to play Versus with, you can go online and find someone.
My dad pays for our internet and doesn't want me going online with consoles due to possible security risks for his computer, so I haven't tried these features for myself.
I'm hoping that the sequel has speed mods, and more awesome originals like 1998 (Sparky 2006) and Super Samurai. Doubles would be great too.

It seems weird that Gamefly has DDRHP2 and not DDRHP1.
Last year they had DDRHP1 released and supposed to allow people to rent it but never did.

Yeah but DDR is more of a party game, not like Team Fortress 2 or whatnot which are designed to play online. It's a nice feature to include I guess, but with DDR I've always seen it as more of a game you want to play with your friends right next to you.

DDR Hottest Party 2? Hm... I would like if that DDR not like previous before. No BG, No Video Bg = not interesting DDR. If DDR HP2 much like DDR HP1, i'm very very very disappointed
I wish songs from DDR SN2, DDR SN1 and previous DDR appear again on DDR HP2.

I understand, DDR really is a social game. I think of online mode more like an extra for those who could use it (which is why I didn't like the idea of SN1's online exclusives, and am thankful they were put in SN2). Besides, online play is all the rage these days =P
And hey, I can understand really liking background videos like in Extreme 2. The dancing stages take awhile to adjust to, and if you don't remember the good ones' numbers (use #20 for white) then you can end up with camouflaged arrows. (That isn't to say there aren't bgvids with this problem, like Note and Max-Me Mix). Out of the games with dancing stages/characters though, I think Hottest Party's were done best. Why just have one character dancing if DDR is a social game?

Konami should make Option for video BG ON, OFF 1 and OFF 2 which means, ON = Full video BG like DDR Extreme 2 and dancer still dancing between video BG, OFF 1 = like SuperNOVA style, OFF 2 = Static BG. If Konami put video option like that, it more delightful than SuperNOVA style that doesn't have any nice video and BG. More important is BG, so we can put BG wallpaper into Stepmania;D

So if Stepmania had dancing stage support, then then you wouldn't care about backgrounds? XD
I agree that there should be more background options, like being able to lower brightness at the arcade (would be a very handy feature to save on an e-amuse card).

1) Doubles Mode!
2) Some mods! Any mods!
3) Each song's chart having two different ratings. One for the steps with Hand Markers, one without. It's a little bit of a disappointment picking Hot Stuff, thinking it's going to be a 9, and it turns out to be a mid 7.
4) Change the announcer, for the love of God.
5) Yeah, 25 licences would be great, but if they aren't the originals, limit the number of them.
6) Make the end of the latest incarnation of Groove Circuit not as fecked as the last one. Getting no Boos on I'm Flying Away, and getting no Boos on SUPER SAMURAI are two tasks of wildly varied difficulty.

Well, here's my wish list of things I want.
1) Give me modifiers. Speed mods just make life so much easier.
2) Make the characters not look so grotesque.

Konami should allow users to delete the records.
I doubt that there will be any music videos or background changes since the hand motion is already harder to see.
what is up with that gimme?

Ah, maybe DDR Hottest Paty is still Konami's trial. It's OK when some old feature doesn't appear yet but on DDR HP2, Konami must upgrade all of them. I wonder, when Konami make DDR Universe and DDR Universe 2, they still have time to make nice BG wallpaper and video BG (WOW for Eternus BG). If Konami have a time to make nice BG and Video BG, they should put on DDR HP2.
Oh, yeah. Why on Beatmania IIDX 13th syle there is a song called Zenius-i-vanisher? Anybody know?

I'm sure backgrounds take the same amount of work as stages. Universe 1/2 backgrounds aren't that creative, anyway.
And Zenius-I-Vanisher is the song after which this website is named.

Because that is what Tatsh wanted to call it?
What exactly do you want to know? This is like asking why Tatsh called Sphere "Sphere".

And more importantly, why is he asking in the DDR HP2 thread!? Anyway, one thing I forgot was putting some harder 9s/easier 10s in. The jump between I'm Flying Away and Super Samurai is a little...extreme, no?

Super Samurai is like... Cartoon Heroes on crack with the more wild varieties of step patterns that SS sends at you.
And yeah, HP2 needs better transition songs. Super Samurai is like a medium 10 footer when compared to the other 10's.
