Hardest Songs on DDR

Actually, VD D-Challenge is quite a bit easier than POSSESSION D-Challenge. Some say VD D-Cha more like a 17 than an 18, but I can't beat other song, but a friend of mine has done VD D-Chal and can't do POSESSION D-Cha.

Well, here's a question for the pros... what's the hardest song on DDR that's actually fun? How high should us nubs be aiming for? ;P I'd really like to pass VD and Possession one day, but that's about as high as I wanna go.

Isn't Possession D- a 19 in X3 anyway?

I can do POSSESSION Expert and actually enjoy it. Anti Matter and New Decade I can squeak through and I feel as if they're just really really hard, but not "unfun".

To me, the fun limit stops at 16. After that, some charts are just too difficult to be even remotely fun.

Well I wouldn't call myself a pro but I'd say the line for DDR is 17 (Possession and Anti-Matter are fun, in my opinion, but I don't find New Decade enjoyable). I also find ITG middle 12s to be about the upper limit for fun. The disparity might be because DDR's 18s and 19s are a little bit crazy. I can't imagine anyone having fun playing Pluto Relinquish or anything harder.

I find the more fun songs to be the ones that are mostly lots of steps in simple but quick patterns.
Max 300, SABER WING Remix and Anti-Matter are good ones. Even though I can't pass the latter.

I find jumps annoying at high speeds and find songs like New Decade and PARANOiA ~Hades~ to be considerably less fun.

Good example: I always pick TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX over

I can't pass any 18s or 19s, but I imagine they are fun for the novelty of trying to pass something so utterly ridiculous.

Tsugaru isn't hard in my case. I can do Tsugaru with a C grade. The gallops made it challenging.

There was a myth about TSUGARU Standard that it was so hard during the location test, people died, pregnant women miscarraiged, & other people had severely wounded quadriceps. This of course is not true.

Where does all the wonderful new jun stuff enter in here? Not because they're the hardest charts, but because they may be the hardest to willingly want to play...

I like jun.

I can pass TSUGARU with an A, but what throws me off is the 1/32nd note galloping section. Overall, it is not too hard for me.

However, I hated GRADIUSIC CYBER and LOVE THIS FEELIN' since I usually get bad timing in those charts.

This. I've gotten to halfway through the double BPM final stream of Vdim D- , but I can't even touch POSSESSION D-. Vdim D- is more of a solid 18 than the 19 it's billed as.

I'd say if bracketing is allowed for Vdim S- (and players in Japan seem to typically use bracketing for it) then POSSESSION D- is by far the hardest chart in the game.

I find VD to be more, well, forgiving I guess isn't the best way of saying it, but it allows for mistakes to be made and not cripple you for good. POSSESSION is just a pain the whole way through because of the speed, even with no speed mods. One slip up can lead to 1/2 the bar going away. I'll admit that i'd rather play POSSESSION just because I do enjoy the challenge (and because doublesteps in mid-16th stream is a no-no ).

I'd say Trim, POSSESSION, Valkyrie Dimension and maybe 888 to be about as hard as you can get without crippling the fun. POSSESSION isn't much harder than it's is, if you get what it does. New Decade and Anti-Matter are kinda pushing it. To hell with Pluto the First, VD/ND , and pretty much any SuperNOVA 2 boss besides Pluto and TMP. Yes, that means you too, DEGRS.
