Play A Round Golf and Games in Newport News, Virginia now has DDRX. The pads have been slightly modified so that the sensors are raised up higher and easier to hit. If you play on it, you should be able to FC most songs now. However, the timing is still going to be killer for a bit of time and even with the small fix, the pads are still going to take some getting used to. It's set for $1.00 per credit, and you can play doubles without needing 2 credits.

IMO, I like it quite a bit more than SN2 but the game has a lot of issues.

How long has the DDRX machine been in Virgina?

Now that you've told me that it's now in Virgina, I feel like taking a road trip to get there and testing it out
I went to DDRX in Crestwood and and the pads were awful just like many people told me when I was there, didn't mind the huge lag
but with the horrible lags, and horrible pads.

I'd imagine it's only been since Wednesday. I only just heard about it Thursday night. Or more to the point, heard about it's issues Thursday night.

We kinda passed max 300 x-special today... Well we failed on the last note haha.

So I went to Trocadero again to play some DDRX on the Konami cab.
I'm starting to hate it now. Right arrow P1 is sticking and left arrow P2 is sticking as well.

Well to be fair that's not a fault of Konami, I played that machine a couple days after the test started and it was working beautifully.
Apparently the Troc staff fiddled around with it or something and that's when it started acting up.
But without those modifications made, that cab was amazing.

It was like that when I went to do report #2, looks like they've gone bad again.

Yeah the cab was really good, but it's now going down the same path as the PIU Pro there, with sticky pads.

Those pads weren't even remotely close to horrible at all. If you ask me they were superb! I was able SDG alot of songs without breaking any combos. The only thing that pestered me during gameplay was the visual lag from the widescreen. Other than that, I was able to triple AAA a few songs here and there. I would most certainly kill to play on that machine again than to these abominations that we have in the market right now.

People have said the location Konami pads were awful?

what is queen-zukin new colors?

the step chart for that song is ridiculous.
I don't understand why they put in freeze arrows on some of the third-note steps and the ending...well I would have lost at the solo
part, too much crossover for me.

Looks like the Seattle, WA Gameworks got a DDR X dedicab. I haven't played on it, but other DDR players in the area seem to not like it...

It seems to be a case of every time the machine gets moved to somewhere else a different problem occurs, the pads were fine when they were right up on the top floor but when they got moved this started happening, although i managed to play around it after some practice its getting annoying that they just wont leave it in one place!

I went to Gameworks in Illinois again with a friend. We went to DDR X and I told him not to get his hopes up because the pads were horrible. To my surprise they were fixed and working phenomenally. The 1P side seemed almost perfect, and the 2P side had minor issues with the up and left arrow.

The lag was still there though, but as long as you step to the music and early to the arrows on the screen, your fine. AAing is still hard to do with the lag, but I AA'd alot of songs yesterday on that cabinet. I got as far as the Extra Stage (Saber Wing), and almost AA'd that too.

Now all that needs to be done is fixing the lag.

Oh and get this. Turns out Gameworks did not fix the pads. They were extremely angry about the purchase and phoned Betson about the many problems with the machine. Betson responded by sending out an employee to fix the machine for free.

And Betson doing something good for free? That's almost illegal.
