888 Challenge is a brilliant boss chart, sorry.
I was kidding, it's just that musically, it sounds like an explosion in a vinyl records factory. Like Mars War 3000 (Holy Fuck What Have You Done To My Ears Mix).

888 looks pretty hard, but it really isn't that bad. At least it's hard because it's hard and not because of stupid fast scroll speeds or freeze tricks. Or 400 BPM step jumps. :\

On Delta Max, anyone else notice the ITG Logo Sound every 100 BPM?

That's not the "ItG logo sound". ItG pulled that sound and used it as their logo sound, but that's not its origin.

The sound is from the Reverb+FX Bass Drum section of Vengeance Essential Club Sounds Vol. 2. ^^

AS no one has yet to upload any video footage for the Doubles charts, how's Delta Max doubles Heavy?

"o_O?"
I heard someone mention it, I just didn't know what the sound was exactly.

It's pretty cool.

Also 888 is hard partially because it pushes the movement threshold another 4(?) BPM higher. Pluto the First had the highest movement speed for a song before this. That and the really odd rhythms the steps go to. It matches the song perfectly but the song itself can throw you off.

It's 30 seconds of generic Ryu* repeating 3 times. The steps have absolutely no variation when dealing with the repeats.
At least he managed to avoid fucking it up like he usually does with his songs.

Like I said before, I'd rate it a 19, not a 20. Yes, it probably is the hardest song so far, but it just doesn't have that 'OMG THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE' feel...

If 888 is a 19, then Trigger is an 18.

Whoops, wrong topic. Green Grin

On a serious note, I'd call 888 an 18. It doesn't have jumps that kick you between the legs nor insanely fast crossovers that breaks your legs. It merely pushes the speed threshold higher with 16th clusters at 222(?) BPM. The clusters aren't exactly difficult to pull off. Most of them are jackhammer or candle clusters. The speed is crazy but the name of the song itself should tell you to play it at 1.5x or less.

The first properly made, incredibly difficult song, I'd say. The genre could work with you or against you though.

Eh, yeah, I guess 18... but still, then what'd be an actual 19 or 20?

I'm sure I can't pass 888 so take this for what it's worth, but it doesn't look harder than something like Holy Orders. 888 is quarters and 16th bursts at 222 most of the time. Holy Orders is 16ths at like 138bpm the entire time, and 32nds or something ridiculous during the sweep picking parts. Holy orders is what, like a 14?

I don't know what that would translate to in the new scale, but I can't see 888 being a 20 when there are already harder commonly played charts out there.

Holy Orders would be a 19 though.

BUMP: Maybe a 20, I mean, it is a 5 minute song... and also, it isn't just a little less harder, it's quite a bit, because of the length, and because 888 doesn't go to 24th and 32nd notes...

OOPS, I forgot to edit that out... Blushing I copied it over from DDRC without removing the extra info.

Well yeah, but even if you edited Holy Orders down to 2 minutes I think it's still harder.

I think Konami sort of shot themselves in the foot with the 20-scale by making already released songs go up to 18. Doesn't leave a whole lot of room.
