Ugh, I seriousy don't care for DDR anymore. I got my two Maxs and Extreme 2 and I'm good.

I actually thing this game could be a milestone as to where DDR is going. I think its just taking so long, since its essentially the next generation of the game. If its more of a platform with DLC instead of plans of having sequels every year, then its probably a bit harder to develop, but worth it in the end. I think that DDR S+ game on the iphone is going to be similar to this, in terms of how the game works. E3 is only a few months away now too, so hopefully the game is either out by then, or more is shown.

I also don't think the character models would look too bad if they applied a cellshaded filter to them. The only thing I don't like about them are the faces.

But i get what your saying though, but this is what "patience" and "perseverance" is all about, and if it doesn't have what some of us aren't looking forward too, then well sure you can quit....

...but some of us will enjoy it one way or another :3

The faces looked too...real, and "real" as in "scary real" if you look at the E3 and the other trailer for the game...

Gamestop still shows May 1st which is a Saturday...

I really think Konami will move to Fall release dates like they always do... last time I checked the last ddr game that got delayed was ddr universe 1 but I think this ver will be delayed even longer than that.

Wow, it's only been a few months and people are already comparing this to Duke Nukem Forever, a game which was supposed to be released in 1997 but is still in development? Sure, delays suck, but comparing a game that's been delayed for a few months to a game that's been delayed for 13 years is absolutely ridiculous.

It should only be a tentative date. Based on Konami's schedule, a DDR game should be out by that time (and this is supposedly the Xbox/PS3 version of X2 released last September).

Most likely they've just reworked it to be a port of whatever games are being released this fall.

Great News!!!

I've received word that pre-release versions of Dance Dance Revolution for PS3 and Xbox 360 have been leaked. Changes made to the games since the last time it was shown are:

-a simplistic interface meant for newcomers to DDR
-a focus on background movies instead of Dancing Characters
-mini-games in the same vein as those included on Extreme USA, etc.
-newer licenses like Michael Jackson's "Beat It", the dance remix of "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion as well as all-time favorites like "If You Were Here", "Mr. Wonderful", "Hero", "Dub-I-Dub", "Boom Boom Dollar" and much more!

Madpropz to two kind souls who have uploaded videos of this game. It would give us Gameshortz something to gawk as we wait for the release.

Leads me to suspect that this DDR engine will work similar to a virtual console, and that KONAMI is looking to re-release older (arcade?) titles to as full of a reasonable extent as possible (maybe they're dropping the suckier songs). This, WITH Octo mode = COMPLETELY worth the wait.

EDIT: ...and maybe the new console, too. I was tempted for online RB2 already, anyways.
