2. Better USB Support:
Be honest with yourselves, ITG cabinets knew how to favor the community with custom content and wide USB support, and I feel Konami should do the same, as well as improve the in-game editor to be more like Stepmania. As for custom songs, not likely as it could effect copyright issues if found out, and without permission to use licensed tracks under Konami's nose. IMO.

they limit the edit mode because of: the limitations of the first edit mode and the file format, and they try to keep people from shitting arrows everywhere. If they allows us to do edits up 64ths, I bet edits with 64th arrows spam will show up.
Backward compatibility is also nice.
also did you know that when people use memory cards to save data in EXTREME era it was relatively easy to hack your scores?
Also PIU suffered from a score hack several months ago IIRC
and custom songs? go play r21 or something.

3. More Mods:
ITG had a ton of mods, and I could understand how unnecessary it is to have those mods in a DDR game, but since many of DDR's mods have made it into the main game, why not add some more even though the majority won't use them. (waaste of time I guess).

You already know the answer. Waste of time. and most probably useless. the impeding mods they implement now is mods that has been in since 2ndMIX CS AFAIK (maybe earlier?), and the WAVE BRAKE BOOST mods are there since the MAX era or what? they're in a course in SN2 too. Used right BOOST can help too.

4. A New Announcer:
The current announcer IMO is quite rather annoying, and a new announcer would be nice, especially if they brought back the old sound files of the MAX-SuperNOVA era announcer, but a different announcer (like the one from PIU) would suffice just as well.

did you just suggest DDR to use an announcer from another game that is not even fUCKIng KONAMI

It sounds really crazy, but if Roxor found a way to partner with Konami for just one game (with Konami doing a majority of the programming and stuff), it could respawn the ITG2 theme, as well as more than 100 ITG songs, plus crossover tracks in both versions, and stepcharts for DDR charts by Roxor, and ITG charts by Konami as a completely hypothetical experiment (I know this will never happen, but I can dream can't I? Plus opinions, some of you will disagree and may think I'm either crazy, or make total sense).
this will never happen. keep dreaming. reality will hit you hard someday. (roxor is dead anyway)
ALSO WHY THE FUCK IS THIS VS SHIT KEEP APPEARING
I'm pretty sure that shit is one-mix only, much like RDA.
Quote: Drumrush7
and was never really a boss chart in the game
DEGRS was a boss song in DDR X2 NA CS. It's red.

one of these days, the DDR community and ITG community eventually have to make peace one way or another, even if it takes 15 years to do it.
you said yourself that ITG and DDR approach 4panel rhythm game differently. i don't see how mutual agreement can be reached.
from all your post i infer that you are in favor of ITG, why don't you stay there. you can still play DDR songs with a r21 anyway

Not to continue the quote-a-thon, but I can't turn a blind eye to this:
I agree, a boss should be hard, not easy, but put some thought into the chart creation that involves a little brain power and common sense. If I wanted to play shit charts, i'll go pop in DDR for the PS3 and cry myself to sleep afterwards. Maybe i'll have a dream where I play PRev on Expert and forget that there's another difficulty beyond it (Y'know, kinda like what I already do, and because that Expert difficulty is fucking BRILLIANT).
Quote: Drumrush7
As for those complaining about PRevo
, It's a boss song. It's not suppose to be easy, it's suppose to be hard as fuck intentionally, plus the fact the combo count equals 753 is also a determining factor in how the stepchart was made.

Except we see crappy steps from songs that debuted on the AC. I think there is a CS and AC step team, just good charters and shitty charters on the same team.

For the new AC mix, more songs (regardless of genre) that are from 201-250BPM; as i've stated this in an earlier post. If DDR's difficulty curve is increasing overall, they might as well incorporate faster songs; possibly with some 16th streams well above 200BPM. I still want the faster songs to be fun (even if I can only do
because
will be a 15+).
I fear that the new mix's overall difficulty is going to skyrocket.
I didn't play DDR for all these years, just to play on
again. [/rant]

The only part that seems to be really sky rocketing is the boss songs. We still have a healthy dose of 9-13s. But keep in mind that back in the "hey day" of DDR we had a lot of difficult charts (considered difficult at the time). Max was considerably harder all around compared to prefix mixes. I'm ok with hard or easy, either way, as long as the charts are fun.

Brilliant 2U (AKBK Mix) says hi!

I don't think that's a boss song.

Didn't X2 and X3 have a ton of difficult songs that weren't red or only available for extra stage? I'm not sure what you're defining as "boss songs".

Yes? Boss song.
No? Not a boss song.

That's not how it works. 3 of the RDA songs were only 14. The term "Boss Song" is arbitrary and assigned the term based more on how they're accessed and less on how hard they are.

By that logic, CANDY is still a boss song I guess. Top-tier shit right there.

Well not really. I think a boss song is considered a boss only for its respective mix. Think of any other video game that has bosses. Sometimes the bosses get demoted to normal enemies as bigger, tougher bosses come along. Sometimes the bosses aren't harder than previous bosses and are just "secret" bosses. Also look at CS mixes, some songs are bosses on a CS mix but not the AC mix.

Ive always hated the term "boss song" since it has no real agreed on meaning. The only way I tend to use it is if its a song that appears in red on the songlist, but i usually use the word "Extra Stage song" or "red song".
