"OMG KON!" |
ok, so I was thinking that i may want to make a website. I was thinking it would be something sort of like Aaron In Japan or something like that, however I dont know how to really make a website outside of freewebs. I am expecting to pay for a website, however I just am not sure where to go to make it.
Any ideas?

I was thinking of making one too, but not sure on what. Maybe a DDR site, and hopefully it'll be popular. One with stepcharts, simfiles, forums, announcements on DDR, etc.

I hate to burst your bubble, but if you're thinking of making a DDR centered site, remember that you'll have to do it better than ZIV to be popular, and that's just not possible.

If you want to make a forum, you'll need to know PHP.
My favorite type of board is the Acmlmboard, I think you will also need to know some kind of MySQL also for that though.
CSS is an important language to keep all your themes, and templates in order so you don't have to code some ridiculous link table for every page.
HTML is obviously a must, you'll find yourself using it on pretty much every page, along with the CSS and PHP.
Javascript would be important, but not paramount. Mind you, some people have all sorts of trouble with javascript, but it can allow some neat, funky features for your site.
I've seen quite a few small forums pop up and die, because of the low popularity. I would suggest you get a huge amount of disk space to host simfiles and forum posts. Reasons people love this site that you might want to take into consideration for your website:
-Information about the next Bemani game about as soon as it's known to the public
-Score trackers
-Free simfile hosting
-HOLY SH*T NO ADS
-Friendly user base

Anything is possible.
Besides,ZIV forums are not very popular. There's more activity in the forum in the past months but people are still just coming for the simfiles.

There are only, like, three categories with a decent number of hits.
Hell, I rarely download user-made simfiles.
