Because OpenITG lacks a "Cleared" screen, unlike Stepmania, the ending of songs often gets cut off as the game will proceed immediately from the chart's last note to the results screen.
I'm trying to find a fast method that will avoid this cutoff. I'm well aware that there are methods like adding a dummy mine to the end of the Beginner chart, or using #LASTBEATHIT or something in the simfile to make a song end later; however, this must be done individually to every simfile, and since I have a few hundred of them, it would get very tedious.
I'd like a way to quickly modify the default theme so that one of the following potentially occurs:
1. Make the actual fade-to-black happen more slowly.
2. Force the fadeout to occur a set time later (like, say, 5 seconds).
3. Alter the theme to display a "Cleared" screen in between the song and the results screen (probably very difficult).
4. Make the fadeout not occur until the mp3 file has ended (I think this might be hardcoded and therefore not feasible).
5. Disable the results screen music and make the song continue playing its last few seconds while the results screen is appearing.
I don't care if the solution causes 5 seconds of blank space on songs that already end at the right time. I just need a method to make songs not end prematurely.

I thought you could retype something in notepad on the sm file to extend this.

I think you would have finished a few dozen by now instead of pondering for another way, just saying...

Why don't you just make the last note(s) into holds that end when the song's audio ends completely. That's what I do with most of my simfiles, even though I don't have OpenITG.

Any help on this? I've searched for a long time and found no solution.
As to modifying each simfile individually, I'd have to watch and listen to every single song I have, check where the last beat should fall, and then add the proper line to each simfile. It's really the listening part that would take the longest. I have a few hundred simfiles, so listening to every one of them would take days.

Hmm, in the theme I'm making/converting (DDR Party Collection) it still happens. The music stops before the "cleared" screen.
