Hopefully I will be able to get some help on this.
One of the arcades that I frequently travel to has an ITG 2 machine with the R_21 program on it. My problem reguarding this is, that whenever I have songs on my drive and upload them to the machine, it only registers most of them, and when I try it on another game the number of songs have diminished. I have tried re-uploading the songs onto my drive and re-patching all of the songs on there, however it isn't working.
Any advice?

Don't quote me on this, but I think it has to do with the format of the audio files. AFAIK, it only recognizes .ogg as the music.

They are in .OGG format, sorry that I didn't mention it in my previous post.

You'd be better off asking this in either r21 freak or AIJ's technical area. I've seen this exact issue posted on one of those forums. Can't remember where, but the same people frequent both boards anyway so check it out.

If you have more than 25 songs on your flashdrive, it's not guaranteed to load all of them. If you have songs with large music or .sm files, or with banners/BGs still attached (ITG2 won't load images from the flashdrive anyhow), it'll load even less than 25.
Also, if the music file is larger than 5 MB, it won't load it even if it clocks in at < 2' 00" patched or not.

The max itg machines will load is 50, and that's for a freakin' fast thumb drive, but then the ports are usb 1.0 anyway.
Delete anything that isn't ITG related - just leave the ogg, sm file and have simple directory lists. Regularly remove screenshots too.
Alternatively, have multiple flash drives with the songs you want divided onto each.
But still I think it was an issue with the pc in some cases failing to load songs, even when it should have done, so have a check around.

Telperion - I might check that out, thanks.
8ftmetalhead - I'll probably wipe off everything on my drive, have the machine create me a new profile then upload the songs to see if that will work. I'll also check my friend's drive since his drive works perfectly.

here's a neat trick.
The size of the files doesn't matter too much. It's how long the file name is.
For example, it takes longer to read "Maximum Overdrive (wow this is a really long title mix) - NIQ9" than it does to read something like "m"
So basically, change the name of all of the folders, music files, and .sm files to 1 or 2 letters. When you change the song name, be sure to fix is in the #MUSIC:; line in the .sm file. (if you don't, the song will not work)
If you have everything shortened, more songs will load. I've tested this on a few different machines. It works.

It also depends on how your flash drive is formatted sometimes. I had mine formatted wrong and it would only load a fraction of my songs, but then a friend told me to format it another way and it ended up loading everything. I dont know what to format it as off the top of my head.. maybe you could search around a bit for an answer though.

It can be either FAT or FAT32, but if there's 2 flash drives at once, there could be noname issues if they are not formatted the same. Most ITG players format to FAT32.
