Daiz please, can you add "HOW to PLAY" to the database ? I will be so happy xD
Lol same here. Dunno if it'll crash the arcade or not but we have to try. I wanna make a joke chart or a "how to play footswitch and stuff" chart.Post #122 · Posted at 2011-09-24 06:09:24am 12.7 years ago

So Edits can occupy official difficulties?

Some parts are nice, fits with the music/voice. A few are weird. And oh btw, you can't use quad arrows on the edits (even with simphony). We talked about it pages ago :dEDIT : I deleted the youtube tag because we'll see the same video on the page countless time for no reasons :d

"TAKING IT TO THE PIE" |
Just FYI, I am aware of all the issues with SimPhony right now. Work has been stopped in favor for a new online version called SimPhony Online. It will include the following:
-Online account management of your edits
-Edit attributes of an edit without resubmitting the simfile
-Allow others to preview your edits by letting them apply the edit to their local simfile.
-Users can rate your simfiles, comment on them
-Edit rankings, weekly most played, etc.
-Manage your own "packs" of edits for a simple point and click download.

I think that ZIV should host it. That would be awesome! But if you have other plans, go for it.

The only problem I have with the ziv hosting it is:
A) Al doesn't really work with people as far as coding,
B) I can reuse most of the code from the desktop version in the online version since both are written in C#
C) I'm using this project as a way to test out several frameworks I've written
I'll definitely link to ZIV though as that's where we get the simfiles to convert the edits from
Edit: I need some opinions on this here. Should I just host sims on SimPhony Online that have the proper measure adjustments so that way there's no "measure offsets" needed at all?

Bump because Daiz work was awesome and i hope he keeps working on the editor (online or not).
And i have still a few finished songs that i would like to play at the arcade and a few other in WIP but i wait till some stuff got fixed (like the offset or the comment1/comment2).

Hey, that reminds me - I remember we talked about using my SM viewer to preview charts stored on SimPhony. Since smexy v2 is now up and running for the most part (and v2.1 won't be radically different), I can send you the code, or give you the necessary form parameters if you just want to link out to mine.

Weird. When I try to open it, it always tell me that I have to update my .NET Framework.

SimPhony Online is now (sorta) live! Registration is open and you can start creating edits. There's still a small bit of manual work you have to do in using Konami's Library Manager, but otherwise I've streamlined the process greatly!
Here's what you can currently do in SimPhony:
-Upload an edit
-SimPhony will automatically convert it to U and E formats
-SimPhony will also make the original simfile available.
-Make the edit public or private
-Add a link to a video of the performance of the edit
-Set Comment1 and Comment2
-Couples charts are supported!
-Search for other people's edits either by song, rating, user or style
-Modify parts of an edit without reuploading the simfile (rating, comments, etc)
Other features:
-Edits are analyzed for their chart difficulty that's displayed on each edit's details page
-Each edit can be rated from 1 - 10, top edits are displayed on the left
-Top downloaded edits are shown on the left as well
-Recent edits are also shown on the left
Coming soon:
-The ability to create edit "packs"
-Converting your edit packs into a proper .DAT file for the arcade without using Konami's Library Manager
-Comments for edits
-Any suggestions people make

Exposure bump.
I took a look through the site and it's fairly easy to use, with a few minor complaints. I've uploaded a few doubles edits of mine, along with all of the Xbox charts that Konami has neglected so that people can give them a try.
I'm missing AM-3P and Maximizer as I'm waiting for Daiz to update the site.
I also uploaded three of the mission mode charts, for kicks.

It isn't directly related to the simphony website (which is REALLY cool by the way), but do any of you have trouble creating DAT files with the Konami Library Manager ?
The website does not accept my zip file and returns a "Failed in reading the file." error along with ugly PHP errors.

Hi skateinmars,
Can you provide the specific ID's of the edits you are trying to include? I will test it out myself and try ti see what the issue might be and fix it.

Nevermind, I was able to create a DAT file by using Firefox and creating a .zip using the standard Windows way ("compressed folder"). Using .zip files created with Linux doesn't seem to work though (I tried using File Roller and the LSP-EX2 edit file).

Alternatively you can use the library manager on the web site (click "Add to Library" for any edit then go to the upper right corner and expand the box). You're given an option to download all of the edits in your temporary library into a .zip file. These zip files works with Konami's Library Manager.

Edits browsing is broken at the moment, I got this error :
Quote
{"Message":"Error during serialization or deserialization using the JSON JavaScriptSerializer. The length of the string exceeds the value set on the maxJsonLength property.","StackTrace":" at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.Serialize(Object obj, StringBuilder output, SerializationFormat serializationFormat)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.Serialize(Object obj, SerializationFormat serializationFormat)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Services.RestHandler.InvokeMethod(HttpContext context, WebServiceMethodData methodData, IDictionary`2 rawParams)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Services.RestHandler.ExecuteWebServiceCall(HttpContext context, WebServiceMethodData methodData)","ExceptionType":"System.InvalidOperationException"}
I can still manage my edits and upload a new one.
