So I was kind of pointed this way for this particular subject. If needed, I'll move it but, here we go. This is the place to show off your lua files/talk about them.
Speaking of show-off...
This is a file that I've been working on for a future pack release. The stepchart seen is actually warpdr!ve's so I'm taking no credit for that. What I AM taking credit for is the god-awful lua that's going on. The file actually just got done a day ago. Lol I'm not very good at lua.

Not hijacking the thread, but I thought it'd be cool if some people were given some lua files to download and experience the fun in them...mostly just me trying to know what is out there that I can't find because I don't know the name of those packs that have been catered to them.

I know warpdr!ve has a couple of lua files at his disposal. I'm still working on mine at the moment. Oddly enough, lua's like learning how to ride a bike... Once you learn it, you don't forget it :U

I was thinking more along the lines of things like Windeu's or Taro's works...but I'll check that out, I guess.

Only like one other person I've seen has lua talent like WinDEU and Taro and that's Puurokulho on Youtube.

I was gonna say, the Gay4Gimmix series is a staple in Lua scripting.

Jayce created the DivinElegy website, created the GrooveNights theme with help from Taro and WinDEU(I think), and is a lua creator. He did the Gay4Gimmix packs.

I see this thread is off to a dumpy start.
Here, have some random tease of UKSRT3 possibly
There will be lua

Who is the character in the banner? Looks like a cross between Mr.TARO and Kakashi from Naruto.

....hate to ask but, what IS lua? Is it basically just modded-to-all-hell simfiles? Or is it something completely different?

lua on its own is a programming language.
Rudimentary lua has been around since SM3.9 for conditional background/foreground changes, see some of my simfiles (e.g. Bamboo on Bamboo).
Lua was greatly expanded upon in openITG to allow for all sorts of arcane magic like this:
and this
(this modded simfile doesn't have a .crs file with it - all the mods are done with lua, see the description)
Finally, in SM5, xml-lua was ditched entirely, replaced with an entirely lua theming/object placement system, so the lua no longer needs to be hacked into simfiles via ITG's "%function"

Lua is a programming language that was duct taped into place in 3.95/ITG to replace the aging .ini style of user-level coding that 3.9 relied upon. It's much more interwoven an mature in StepMania 5.

You know...it would have made sense to quote that whole thing if it was at the bottom of a page and no one would read it, but seeing as how it's still on the first page...it makes little to no logical reason to do that.
