Yup you read right. To celebrate the release of the Mac version of Steam, Valve has decided to declare that Portal will be free of charge over the Steam network until the 24th of May. So if you're interested, get Steam (if you don't have it) and find Portal in the Store section.
Just thought I would share this as this is a pretty epic game and at the price of free, I think people should know about this offer. Anyone considering to take up this offer?
I kind of wish now I got just TF2 instead of the whole Orange Box >_>
Just to note also, the Steam servers are overloaded with traffic today, so if you're interested, it might take some waiting till the traffic on their servers dies down.

I got it first thing I got Steam on Mac, runs pretty ok on it, would probably go faster if I didn't have Skype, MSN, etc all running at once
Sucks that the Mac users have to wait a week for the Valve games

I heard TF2 is coming tomorrow though. Hopefully I heard right. I am uber curious to see how well games run using OpenGL

Downloading, I've been wanting to play Portal forever. I might even end up buying more stuff on steam just because they were so nice to give me Portal for free.

I got The Orange Box on the 360, and I'm STILL gonna download this anyway.

I bought Orange Box on both consoles I have to say Portal and TF2 have a different experience. Also, in Portal on the PC/Mac, if you punch in "impulse 101" in the developers console, you get the Half Life 2 guns. I love how I can make two portals then shoot myself.
That and I was bored enough to bind a key to spawn the gman wherever I please
