I decided to open a thread for comments, and suggestions regarding a simfile project I started working on, in which I entitled "In The Groove: The New Beginning". I named it that in response to the fan-made ITG Rebirth 1 & 2 projects that have been made over time, so I decided to start my own. So far, I've been making charts for the simfiles, but I cannot do it alone. I need people to review the charts to ensure that they've been done & rated correctly. I also need helpers who can make banners & backgrounds. So, I decided that some help with this project is necessary.
Some songs I have chosen from other series such as FlightMix, Mungyodance, PlaqueMix, StepMix, etc;
Other songs were chosen as they are by song artists whose music has appeared in previous ITG series releases, official, or fan made.
There are even songs from video games not as related to music oriented/dancing games.
And, certain songs I simply chose, since they seemed fitting for the songpack.
Songs in the first release:
1-2-3 - Captain Jack
7355 - Bluebird Handwriting
*Airbased - Chikusho Sound Team
Airport Tycoon 2 Moscow Theme - Sunstorm
Anubis (Black Land Mix) - DM Ashura

^Denotes a simfile that contains only 4 difficulties (Novice-Hard), instead of the usual 5 (Novice-Expert).
*Boss Simfiles (Songs in red, or songs where at least the Hard & Expert difficulties have ratings of 10 or higher)
**Denotes a special type of simfile where a certain minimum passing level is required to be able to play ANY of the charts past the Novice difficulty (does NOT imply that it is a Boss Song). Also, this type of simfile is made in a manner where each difficulty (regardless of Novice) is no more or less than 1 rating higher than the previous difficulty. (Ex: Easy 7; Medium 8; Hard 9; Expert 10) More info. will be released later on.
Comments & questions are encouraged.

I HAVE noticed that most of the charts I made ended up with Challenge charts of mostly 11 or higher. I guess most of whatever is released next should have Challenge charts of 9-10 only...

No easy charts? Cool.

Define easy charts? You need to be much more specific, because what some can look at as easy, others see as too hard.
I started making the simfile for Disconnected KYRN Remix on Stepmania 5.0, and I'm ALREADY running into problems here. It seems that everytime I'm generating a different difficulty chart, even after I have saved at least one difficulty chart with the correct BPM changes, it's like the newly generated charts don't even know that the BPM changes were ever placed at all. And, the preview when trying to select it also thinks it's still at 60 BPM. This goes for BOTH versions of Stepmania 5.0 I've been playing.
All the more reason for me to get some help with this project.
The simfile (unfinished) plays just fine, but I'm still worried about the preview.

You'll have to make the BPM changes on Song Timing (every chart same gimmicks) rather than Step Timing (each chart separate gimmicks, the default). Press T to switch between the two. The Song Timing BPM changes won't be reflected while editing charts, though.
I think there's a shortcut to copy BPM changes between the two timing styles, but I don't remember what it is...I've only been using SM5 for a couple weeks :I

I decided to stop using 5.0 for my project. When I stepped Disconnected KYRN today on an ITG2 R21 machine off of a friend's USB, it was going at a constant 60 BPM as if it never knew about the changes at all. I think the introduction of .ssc files is to blame ONCE AGAIN. I am stating this because SM5 saved the BPM changes & stops ONLY to the .ssc file, but NOT the .sm file. The question is, why? Why does it keep doing that?
I fixed the problem by removing the .ssc file from it, transferring out the Disconnected KYRN simfile to StepMania 4.0, and redoing the BPM changes, and stops.
And, I'm basically at a BIG problem right now. I DO NOT have a version of Stepmania that can do ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE FOLLOWING, WITH NO QUESTIONING WHATSOEVER:
-Allow me to capitalize letters when editing the song title & artist on any simfile.
-Recognize rolls, negative BPMs, AND warps correctly.
-Allow me to edit my simfiles without experiencing ANY problems.
-Allow me to insert difficulty ratings of 14 and higher on any simfile during edit mode.
-Recognize ONLY the most recent edits & updates made to any simfile, no matter where they were updated.
-Allow me to use different themes other than default without experiencing any problems.
I use a MAC OS X Desktop computer, and I have the following versions of StepMania downloaded:
-StepMania 3.9
-StepMania 3.95
-StepMania 3.95 Modified into an ITG2 theme by following special instructions (but unable to go to edit mode)
-StepMania 4.0
-StepMania 5.0
-StepMania 5.0 w/Alpha update
I have all these versions of StepMania, and yet somehow, NONE of the above versions are able to follow ALL SIX criteria I have listed above the StepMania version list, and I think that is a big problem that I would like resolved as soon as possible. Each version can follow most of the criteria, but as long as it cannot follow ALL SIX, I consider it as a big problem to me.
I'm just going to continue this on 4.0, alone. Since I don't really see much interest here...

I believe this was just answered in the post above:

You're probably setting the BPM changes to be on a specific chart (as that seems to be the default for some reason) instead of the entire simfile, and since that's not supported in other formats, it's not copying that over. I haven't used SM5 for editing since Split Timing though, as I only used it for two keyboard simfiles.
Apparently though, the Stepmania people are working on a standalone editor, but there's no release window as far as I know except maybe 'before or with SM5 final', and I'm not sure if it'll have compatibility with MAC on release or not.

I simply decided to stick with StepMania 4.0, and let anyone willing to help me out fix whatever I cannot on my StepMania 4.0. I managed to fix the issue with Disconnected KYRN.
Looking for an easy simfile? "Your wish is granted!" (Twisted Metal 2 reference) http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewsimfile.php?simfileid=17703
I've managed to complete more simfiles that are on the easier side, compared to previously released simfiles.
http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewsimfile.php?simfileid=17703 New simfile released into the pack.
As of now, the songpack is being released as is. Help with banners/backgrounds & chart evaluation is appreciated.
Trivial facts about the songs/simfiles in the songpack:
1. Dreamscape is well known by most people, due to its usage on YouTube as an AudioSwap track, for videos which have copyrighted audio.
2. A forum post on R21Freak.com 7 years ago suggested that an ITG-oriented simfile should be made for Spente Le Stelle (The Yomanda Remix)
3. Some of the charts in the songpack were developed using the Record feature on SM4, and edited for any mistakes that were made.
4. One notably tough chart, possibly the toughest out of all of the charts in the 1st release, is the SX 14 chart for Convergence by Helix Eternal. Why? Simple as this: Think of a chart that combines various elements from Euphoria -ITG1-, Gargoyle -Rebirth-, oncea -FM3-, Metallik Heart -Rebirth- all into one super-tough killer. It is also the only 14 in the entire series.
5. Older Expert/Challenge difficulty charts were created for Expert Active, Genom Screams, KlungKung 2004, and We Like To Party -BCM RMX-. However, due to their high difficulty, and the need of easier charts at the time, these charts were all disposed of, with the exception of WLTP; it's SX chart which was a 12 was revised, so that it would become an 11 instead.
6. Moskau -Delaction Remix- (the music, not the charts) was made in a manner that resembled Mermaid -Delaction Remix- pretty noticeably.
7. Out of every single chart in the songpack, only two charts have as many as 1,000+ total steps. These two charts are the Edit difficulty chart for Airport Tycoon 2 Moscow Theme, and the Expert/Challenge difficulty chart for Dreaming.
Here's what I'm currently working on for the 2nd release of ITG TNB.

I saw him online on Facebook a few years ago when we created a "Chilean pack". He contributed some of his works there.
Regarding which pack was this song featured in, I only remember that I downloaded it from the official Stepmania webpage back in 2005/2006
