This was some what posted on the old forum and it has been a while since I worked on this last. Fortunately, I picked the project back up and it will be ready rather soon!
What is SimPhony Online?
SimPhony Online is the online version of my program called SimPhony. This program converted Stepmania simfile step data into Konami edit data format for use on US and European DDR X and X2 arcade machines. My program allowed conversion of charts for songs outside of the set supported by Konami's online step editor.
What's special about the online version?
The desktop version of this application was somewhat complicated to use. Not many people used the program because it basically required a tutorial to walk the user through the process. The online version just requires you to upload a simfile and to fill out some pieces of information and you're set!
SimPhony Online features
The biggest aspect about SimPhony Online is the ability to share edits on the website. Each edit you create will be saved to your user id. Once you upload an edit, it will be available as the original .sm simfile or the DDR X/X2 .dat file. Edits can be searched for, rated and commented on.
What's improved over the desktop version?
The online version will automatically list all available charts that are in your simfile. You simply select which chart you want to convert and it will attempt to automatically set everything based on the chart data in the .sm (difficulty, name, etc). You can still modify it if you wish.
Also, in the previous version, if there was a difference between the first measure if your simfile and the first measure of the official chart, you would pretty much have to tell the editor how to shift your chart +/- a measure. The online version will have the first measure of every song stored and will adjust the data correctly.
Finally, Couples charts are supported in this version, allowing player 1 and 2 to have a different set of steps for the same chart.
Ok so where is it?
View the beta version of the site here: http://simphonyonline.com
Sign up has been disabled for now, but you can sign in using userid: demo password: demo, the demo cannot create new edits but you can view existing ones.
I will take any and all suggestions in order to make this the best edit hosting site I can.

Just as a request, can you add support for Europe? NA edits aren't compatible.
Also, curious to know how you found the link ID.

Actually, the region code doesn't seem to really matter as when you send the server the step data, it doesn't specify the region. So you should be able to take the .DAT files and compile them for Europe or America.
Edit: Nm I guess it does matter. I'll put in region selection support and have it out soon.
Edit2: If you download the zip again, you'll see that there's a region selector added. I tested to make sure the edit I created for Europe would load back up and it did 8)

It does not as the program uses the existing online editor as a piggy back to do the conversion. Since the online editor doesn't support the Asian region, neither will the converter.

I can't wait to try it at the arcade.
Like i kind of said before, you maybe should work with Brazen if needed.
I guess i'll make a lot of tests in a week at the arcade.
Also i think your converter will fix the freeze bug that i found months ago :
If you do for exemple right-right on 8th notes and that the first freeze is a 16th long and the second is at least 16th long too, only one freezy will apear. A right long freeze. I got this bug the first time on my party Light edit. That was super annoying.
So i have to test this also.
I hope i'll bring a new waves to my Limited Revolution files

I'm slightly confused with the "select your difficulty" option. Does that just specify how the edit will appear on the machine (green/pink/purple difficulty bars), or is that the actual stepmania difficulty chart that we are exporting? Otherwise I'm assuming it just converts the data from the Stepmania EDIT difficulty, right?

The Difficulty is for what steps you will be converting from your Stepmania file. Some people make their edits replace existing charts, others use just Edit.

Here is a beta release of a StepMania simfile to DDR .DAT edit file for use on DanceDanceRevolution X and X2 machines.
ポスト #14 · 2011-08-19 07:48:25amにポスト 12.8年前
It converts a Stepmania simfile to DDR.DAT files which are used for step edits. You can create an edit in StepMania easily and convert it to a .DAT file for use in DDR X/X2. So no, you're not really using simfiles on a DDR machine.
Edit: A new version of SimPhony has been released. Freeze Arrows are in fact working now and there's some helpful links next to the options to explain what does what.

Yeah, if you just want to play the Challenge chart, just select "Challenge" for the difficulty and it will export the challenge steps as an edit file.

For anyone that wants to help: I figured out how we can find out the appropriate offsets for all the ZIV simfiles vs official data file. If you have any home version of DDR, load up the song in Edit Mode and look at what measure the first step starts on. Look at the measure the first step starts in Stepmania for the same song. Take the Stepmania measure and minus the measure of the first step in the DDR data and that will be the offset.
If anybody does this, please report what the offset you found out is and I will work it into the MasterIdList text file. Thanks to everyone that helps!

Note that when viewing charts in Stepmania, the first measure is labeled #0, while on DDR I think the first measure is labeled #1. Also this makes the assumption that the beginning of the charts are synced to the same position in both the SM chart and the official (eg. same offset). Is this something that we can safely assume? It seems to me that especially for songs with longer intros that this might not be the case.

Actually, Chewi confirmed that all files on this site have the same starting measure number as the official Konami data. The only thing I have to do is remove the first measure from the XML sent to the server and the .DAT files produce load correctly (confirmed this with Un Deux Trois, Curus, and Jam & Marmalade).
Also, Stepmania's measures are 1 indexed so the first measure is #1.
