In DDR II for Wii, I just played Versus Mode for the first time. I noticed that there is a tick/clap sound that plays during the songs. I find this annoying and I'd like to disable it, but the Assist section of the Options menu is grayed out. I'm not sure why that menu is grayed out or why the clapping is only in Versus Mode. Is there some way to access that menu or otherwise disable the clapping? Thanks.

What difficulty levels are being played? As in Beginner, Basic, etc? Is someone playing on each position (no person is not playing?)
I think when a song is played on beginner on versus and the person playing on beginner is doing really badly, a clapping to the beat will start to sort of help the player with their timing to the music.
If this is the case, I think there is an option somewhere in there that can turn it off in that event, but don't quite me on this; I haven't looked closely at the options in a while.

Thanks. I just tried it out and I think you're right. I set one player to Expert and one to Beginner, then only played for the Expert player. The clapping started after a little while. Then I set both to Expert and only played for one player, and there was no clapping.
I wonder why the Assist section is grayed out, though. It seems like that's where the settings for this feature would be.

The assist feature is only for use in training mode. The option select is pretty much the same there, with the access to assists (metronome, clapping, song speed, whether or not you want the music on, etc.)
Anyways, glad I could help.
