It's ripped (although low quality by today's standards). Noticeable differences (SN2 AC vs. SN2 CS):
Bass is significantly weaker (loses that pounding feeling).
Some keysounds are near-inaudible in the former while some not hard in the latter can be heard in the former due to the weak bass.
The former is a little shorter. It's missing the first drum sound and the last note found in the latter.
IMO the latter sounds better. The former sounds like a second-to-final draft that wac accidentally submitted instead of the final one

Looks like a valid theory. Maybe wac kinda remastered it, thus using the new version in subsequent releases.

Besides DDR X3's 2nd mix mode, no 2nd mix characters have made an appearance in DDR Supernova onwards.

i honestly love the bass in the original saturn. not the ac ver, but the cs. when they ported to iidx without the bass it was disappointing.

Oh, something I remembered:
It's possible to install upgrade-cab software to widescreen dedicabs, which causes:
-Non-functional lightsticks
-Non-functional light strip (below the screen)
-Unable to use Up/Down buttons on the machine
-Stretching of the screen (due to native resolution of 4:3 being forced to display on a 16:9 screen)
Maybe some others. What's clear is all dedicab exclusive feature is unavailable.
One of the X dedicabs here does that. There's another dedicab that's still working, but 2.4x more expensive.

Let me rephrase that. New characters from DDR 2nd Mix (Dread, Janet, Cow-Ko, Mameo, Disk beings, Oshare Zukin and Konsento 02) do not appear on DDR SN onwards. Afro is from 1st mix (although you kinda gave me a light bulb moment there )

I just remembered this from way back.
When playing versus on EXTREME NA CS Mission Mode, the winner's jingles are the last 2 measures of either Love Love Shine or DIVE (P1 & P2 respectively [or is it the other way around? lol]); neither of which are playable songs in the game.

DIVE was playable in EXTREME USA. But I think you're confusing the P1 jingle for the ending of B4U, which was also featured.

DIVE/BeForU was playable in EXTREME 2 CS and KONAMIX.
Diving/4 Strings was playable in EXTREME USA.
But i'm still pretty sure that LOVE LOVE SHINE was one of the jingles. I might have to re-verify this.

So I was right about LOVE SHINE as a jingle after all. But now I wonder why they decided to leave it out as a playable song clear until SuperNOVA CS?

Yes, that's correct. The earlier version for Saturn is exclusive to SN2 AC. Other incarnations of that song (IIDX, future AC releases, CS releases) has the other version that sound much more keysounded.
I can upload the MP3 of the original if anyone wants.

Oh, and also, Saturn on SN2 AC apparently have a different beginning than Saturn on TROOPERS CS, no?

There are a couple other places in which non playable songs were used elsewhere in the games. Off the top of my head I can remember that Midnight Blaze (SySF Mix) was used for the MAX 2 information, and wasn't made playable until Universe 3. Also I Need You (Inside Outdoor Mix) is used for one of the menus in Extreme US, and is not playable until Extreme 2.

Also, I recall hearing a version of "MOONSTER" (without vocals) in SN2 US's online menu, and the song wasn't playable until the vocal version got used in X2 US.Post #1236 · Publicado en 2012-06-04 03:56:20am Hace 12.3 años

While digging through old PS2 CS Mixes, I came across these:
->All five online-exclusive songs in SN1 NA CS (NIJIIRO, Honey Punch, Feelings won't Fade, Trim, Silver Platform) are playable offline. These five songs needed to be in edit form and exported to the outside manager in SN2 first, then imported into SN1. Keep in mind that NONE of these songs scroll at their proper BPMs and Trim has no speed changes implemented. Most of the songs get cut off abruptly as well.
->On the Song Wheel in SN1 NA CS, NIJIIRO is Green (Bemani Crossover) and the other four songs are white (KO).
->In the Outside Manager, songs that can be imported list both the Song Title and Artist, while songs that can't be imported simply list the song title, no artist.
->DDRMAX is the only NA PS2 CS mix that lists the difficulty in both English and Japanese. MAX is also the only NA CS mix which says "Oni" in English letters (before confirming the option in "Select Difficulty"), and features a name entry and Top 5 rankings for Single, Single-EX, Double, & Double-EX.
->X2 NA CS does not state that you can import songs from other mixes, even though it's possible. Lamour et la Liberte (DDR Mix), Let the Beat hit em!, un deux trois, Hysteria, Balle de Samba, Tierra Buena, La Bamba, and Love is Orange can all be imported to X2 CS's edit library.
->La Senorita Virtual can't be imported in X2 CS because PS1 & PS2 edit data aren't cross-compatible.
->The announcer states "x-hundred combos" (x being the number) in a different tone of voice in SN1 & SN2 than in MAX-EX2. Most other voice samples remain the same.
->DDR X NA CS is the only PS2 mix that can't import/export edit data, despite it being there, because there were no revivals featured in that mix. (Well, you CAN import/export, but no other mix would recognize DDR X CS songs.)

Actually, data can be copied from PS1 to PS2 memory cards. Any edits made in Konamix will work on PS2 games (Except 6panel edits, the PS2 games will recognize and label them as such but not allow you to do anything with them. DDRMax2 displays a message saying that 6panel edits aren't compatible with "Dancing Stage MegaMix".), and some of the PS2 games will even display the difficulty you set your Konamix edit to.

Guys. Guys.
Did you know that in EVERY DDR ARCADE MIX...there are NEW SONGS?!?
But, in seriousness, the song ALWAYS (a cover appearing in DDR HP) was used in Robot Unicorn Attack?
