current and next gen? The "next-gen" is already the current generation.
I obviously don't have much to say on this. I'll be waiting for a preliminary songlist weeks before its scheduled release.
Obligatory "hoping for songs we haven't seen yet" comment goes here.

QUICK!!! Everyone submit Dancemania licenses ONLY!!!! See how far that'll go.....
And if we should have learned anything from the USB/SD poll, they'll do the opposite of what we ask, so use that to your advantage.

I personally would hate if there was only one DDR that's was for all systems. I like the unique qualities of each seprate entry. This is just a rumor I guess so let's wait and see. This would be totally awesome if they did it on top of the others!

eh, with the loss of all these licenses, redoing classic stuff such as Dynamite Rave, I'm seriously not looking forward to this because the DDR library that's viable is so much smaller than what it could have been back during the Extreme days. I'm really confused as to where Konami is taking the franchise
Apparently this rumor spreading. GoNintendo.com and a few other sites are carrying it. I can't seem to find the original source though.

Hm I bet if this is real the critics will probably bash the PS2 quality graphics that will turn up on the other systems.

Yeah, I'm very curious to see where that came from. Someone posted it at DDROC too but with no source link also...

It seems all sources return to http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=361609 but I haven't found a single solidified source.
At any rate, I say rather than doing this, come out with a mix that has a few new licenses and a few missing from CS songs then having a download service like Rock Band where you can download any song or song pack they release. This way, we can conceivably get every single DDR song out there and not have to deal with buying a new mix and hoping it has repeats. Thus, they can concentrate entirely on new material from here on out.

A universal game would be really nice, because it would blend the styles of every console and hopefully get people interested in each of them. People won't be able to use the "arcade equivalent" excuse of staying on the PS2 (which is silly to begin with since every CS game has exclusive songs anyway, including Extreme 2, which did not correspond to any AC version and was way better than the previous PS2 editions, and some players would get tired of the same 30 songs over and over).
BUT, they definitely should include some songs exclusive to each console. If the songlists are all the same, that could end up hurting Xbox/360 sales rather than helping. This will be awesome if they go about it properly.

I wonder if these songs include songs from the Ultramix/Universe series that we've wanted to see ported over as well... it would be really cool to have a good mixed source of stages; and perhaps this could lead them to being arcade-ported in the near future, as well!

Check it. I see nothing yet. *shrugs*
Also, a question like that COULD be for gearing towards future selections of songs and stepchart designs.
EDIT: CHECK HERE INSTEAD.
