Hi, we got a brand new X2 around here, which we fully unlocked.
We saw in the service mode that the game was set to Hard (level 6) difficulty, but it still is possible to miss about 10 arrows and not fail. I'm wondering if this setting changes the timing and not the life bar ?

The difficulty settings on DDR arcades has always only affected the life bar penalty.

It's an Asian machine (I go there), so perhaps it was timed to unlock everything at a certain point? How it happened has racked my mind for some time, not that I'm complaining.

Aren't the un-offically connected e-Amuse games in the States still working despite X2 and other, older Bemani games not officially supported in Japan?

X2's difficulty setting is a joke. Even on 7 it still feels easier than SN2's first stage lifebar difficulty. Mind that SN2 has progressive lifebar while X2 does not.

SN2's stage 3 lifebar is the worst thing ever, though.
In no rhythm game should dropping a single jumphold deplete 75% of your lifebar RIGHT BEFORE a death stream (PSMO)

The amount that it depletes depends on your combo too. If you break your combo during a high combo run, life damage is HUGE.
If you break 10-20 it's not so bad.

Hi everyone!
I just retagged all the 448 songs from DDR X2, using ID3v2. They all now have the banners from the arcade, correct artist, title, and game name ("DanceDanceRevolution X" instead of "Dance Dance Revolution X (JP) (PS2)" for instance).
I think it could be interesting to update the Zenius songs database with these files, what do you think?

That would inflate the file size significantly.
Too much tags is not a good thing. Sometimes they could mess up with Stepmania.

I actually didn't add tags, I corrected them and even removed some. The only thing I really added was the banner.

I disagree with "significantly". But admit it, the songs tags are in a mess.

What are the tags for anyway?
For listening purposes I use the OST, they are already correctly tagged. The ones in ZIv's database is the GST.

The tags could be used by Stepmania for displaying information about the song for instance?
Also, I'm sure I'm not the only one enjoying songs properly tagged when I get them from Zenius.
By the way, adding the banner increased the mp3 file size by 2,5%. What a significant file size inflation...

Stepmania uses tags from SM file format, and it uses banner from another PNG file, so IMO that's not really needed.
Multiply that with 448, I guess.
I think I'm gonna stop now to avoid cluttering this thread. Let's see what other users think.

Anyone have any idea what's up with Bag's challenge chart? is it just a glitch? I don't know if this has been talked about before but I just noticed it last time I played some X2.
