I'm visiting Japan for a few weeks next week (specifically the Osaka area), and was planning on stopping by an big arcade place like Round 1 or Taito Station and playing the latest DDR and IIDX just for fun. I don't have an e-amusement pass on me, so I was also planning on trying to buy one there as a souvenir and also just to have an actual account (a regular boring one is fine by me). Just some questions since I haven't been able to find many e-amuse tutorials/guides.
1) Do most big arcades sell them there? If so, how much are they usually?
2) Is set up similar to this video and this remywiki tutorial?
3) Will I have to eventually register/link it with a Konami ID to continue playing?

1) Yes, but they are usually sold through small vending machines and not through other people. They don't look like other vending machines, but that's basically what they do. The last time I was Japan, they cost around 300-400 yen.
2) Yes, but knowing some Japanese will help with the process, though.
3) No, but registering with a Konami ID will give you access to extra features such as viewing your stats and rankings. Some BEMANI events also require it to unlock new songs too.
