Issue - Threads Going Off Topic

I would like to raise an issue with members about the increasing number of threads going off topic recently.

The number of thread derailments (threads going off topic) have increased recently and I would request members to respect the relative thread topics and do not post anything that would drag the thread off topic.

Any posts that are deemed off-topic or irrelevant to the topic may get deleted without warning and won't do you any good as off topic posts tend to get yourself rated down too. Don't ruin a good thread by going off topic.

Views, comments and suggestions welcome.

That's what user ratings are set out to do in the first place, to penalise people that ruin the forum/discussion experience of others, which to be quite honest is quite selfish on their part.

Zukin, as should be assumed, anything inappropriate or severely NSFW aren't tolerated.

Generally when I posted jokes and image macros the intention was not to ruin it for everyone else, I just did it to provide some entertainment. I didn't think it would cause too many problems but now I realize it hurts a lot more than it helps.

People tend to forget there are many guest users lurking around the site, and if they want to read up on a thread, I don't want them having to go through pages of crap to find something they are trying to find.

Have you ever clicked on a topic only to find there's hardly any discussion on the said topic because it went off topic? Annoying isn't it? I'm trying to make it so it's a better experience for everyone in general, hence why I'm bringing it up.

Or what's more common here, clicking a thread on the Latest 10 Posts bit on the front page only to find the post isn't relevant to the topic at all.

I don't find it annoying. Heck, the off-topic stuff usually entertains me more than what the thread was originally about, but I imagine not everyone has this same view.

And not to mention I don't want to be going through a perfectly innocent thread then run across a NSFW image and get flagged at work for it. There's really no reason for it. AIJ's really bad about that and I don't want to see this place reduced to the same thing.

Getting Zenius blocked in schools isn't something to be proud of. You'd probably spoil it for many users...

You know what really bothers me? After the controversy in Let It Out over the delicious Kagami photo, people kept on posting cock macros with no objection whatsoever and some even praised. So it's okay to draw male genitalia onto a cartoon character, but you can't show lesbian tongues? WTF?

Hell, Howie has posted tons of risque photos. The reason I've never objected is that they're not exposing anything (and personally, I prefer that over full nudity anyway). A few people have given him snide remarks on the various nipple teases, which also are not as bad as the aforementioned nudity that continually slides, but even those Al hasn't tried to delete everytime they were posted.

It's not the worst thing we've seen on here. Before you keep objecting to that Kagami pic, please consider this hypocrisy.

The Let It Out thread is lax in rules. It doesn't really have a "topic" so it doesn't matter much what you post in there. I haven't kept up with the Let It Out thread but any form of adult nudity should be reported to me via PM or something so I can remove it.

Things have to remain suitable for minors across the entire site.

It's fine to keep it confined to Let It Out, but when every thread I'm actually interested in turns into Let It Out, I don't come by as much. Last night, I was reading up on the X2 thread, and we get a page of people trying to make a weak meme out of DMM when it wasn't funny to begin with.
