This depends on what you mean by backing up. If you have a basic course subscription, you can access your scores for any game. If you have a premium subscription, you can download CSV files containing said scores. However, you wouldn't be able to do any sort of restore with this.

I'm certain if you've linked your eAmuse to an account on Konami's eAmuse website, you can check all your scores and even edit a few settings. Good luck navigating through the Japanese, though.

What you need to keep saved is your eAmuse ID, the number linked to your card. As long as you have that number saved, I think you can restore the card if it gets lost/destroyed. As for backing up, all your data is saved online, so technically it should already be backed up.
