"five minute white boy challenge" |
Here are some general things about the DDR survey I conducted yesterday.
- 26 responses
- A lot of people skipped question 4, oddly
- Fucked up and left out the SuperNOVA games on a question. My bad. This one's on me.
Q1:
PEOPLE INPUTTED NAMES. WOO.
Q2:
The lowest amount people played doubles on 0-100 was zero. This answer was picked several times.
The highest amount was 77, however.
Overall, the average amount of Doubles was only 17 out of 100 percent.
Quickman's comment: I'm not too surprised to see a low score for doubles. As well as usually costing two credits to play, the barrier for entry is high. I wish more people would get into doubles, however.
Q3:
The most commonly picked answer for the hardest difficulty you could confidently pass on Singles was >10! (for average calculation purposes, this is 9) This was picked by 6 people.
Only one person (me) picked 19.
The second most commonly picked answer was 17, with four votes. 14, 15 and 16 all got three.
The average was 13.84, or rounded to a legitimate difficulty, 14.
Q4:
The most commonly picked answer for the Doubles question was also >10, picked by 8 people.
The highest was 17, picked by one. Again, me.
Five of the 26 people skipped this question.
The rest of the results are fairly unexciting.
The average was 11.285, rounded to a legitimate difficulty, 11.
Q5:
No one skipped this question! Jolly good show. Right, the results for "favourite core DDR arcade mix":
DDR MAX2, SuperNOVA and SuperNOVA 2 all got one vote.
DDR 2013+2014 got two votes.
5th Mix and EXTREME both got three votes.
DDR A was the runner up with six votes.
DDR X2 got NINE votes!
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, MAX, X and X3 all went without votes.
Q6:
On a scale of 1-10, the average rating people would give DDR A was 7.64 out of ten.
1/10 - one vote
2/10 - zero votes
3/10 - zero votes
4/10 - zero votes
5/10 - one vote
6/10 - two votes
7/10 - six votes
8/10 - eight votes
9/10 - three votes
10/10 - four votes
n/a - one vote
Q7:
The best thing about DDR A question.
Both "the originals" and "the theme" got five votes each.
The licenses got four votes.
The revivals got one.
The crossovers got zero.
"Other" answers included: An attempt to bring the game back to America and "TIMING ISN'T AIDS ANYMORE". Mhmm. Yes.
Q8:
Same thing, but "worst" instead of "best".
Four votes for the licenses.
One for the crossovers and originals each.
Too many "other" answers to mention! (Whoever said "nothing bad"... no, just no.)
Q9:
The "what is the newest machine within ten miles of you" question.
8 people said DDR A.
5 people said an X game.
12 said MAX to SuperNOVA2.
One person said 1st to 5th.
Q10:
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF MONEY.
Three people legitimately said they would spend three dollars on a round of DDR.
Two people said two dollars and 50 cents.
One person said two dollars.
12 people said a dollar fifty.
8 said just a dollar.

Why would you spend 3 dollars on one round of DDR? That's a little much if you ask me.

I wouldn't normally pay 3 dollars, let alone 2 dollars, for a round of ddr, but if I am on a date and the girl I'm with wants to play with me, I'll pay 5 dollars for each player.

"Just Play Along" |
When I answered the last question regarding how much money I would spend on a round of DDR, I chose one dollar, but didn't consider Doubles mode. For Doubles I would be willing to pay 2 dollars tops.

$1.50 for Standard + Premium play is probably the best price bang for your literal buck with DDR A; when it was $3 total for premium play, that was ridiculous, especially if you wanted to play doubles (you would theoretically have to pay $4.50 per round of three songs if you wanted to use the premium features).
I can't really tell you how much the value of the Japanese Yen is per credit, but a round is cheaper in Japan if it's still 100-200 yen per play. Then again, I'm sure you're forced to use Paseli to use Premium features and the like, so maybe that balances the value out compared to the prices we're paying? Hopefully someone can clarify on that. ^^;

Being a dirty Brit, our credits are more expensive, and I went for £1.50 which I think was $2 in the survey?
